Or maybe it actually does seeing as how I love Disambiguation and I enjoy DTGL and LITSOS as well

i alluded to this earlier but even going in knowing it would be poppier, it still had far less screaming than i expected, so that was the strongest mark against it for me personally. the chorus issues are well documented here, but otherwise i think theres still a lot to like. i seem to think its a bit sloppier than others, but its a very good album. lots of cool experimental stuff id like them to build on. sink with you's outro reminded me of paramour's future.

Honestly; the second half of this record (starting at “Sink With You”) is great stuff. Sure- it’s more accessible/mainstream but it’s still experimental with a different kind of energy.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

This album would fare a lot better live I think. Hopefully they give us another live album soon so we can hear how it sounds with guitars that don't sound like MIDI inputs.

i hope they are spending a lot on their lights & visuals for this tour, like BMTH's "American Nightmare Tour," production.

In Motion and On My Teeth are the only two song I see myself going back to.

If the record had more songs like the opener I’d probably like it more

  8. You said radio rock. That’s the top thirty songs at radio rock stations right now.

  9. Those aren’t rock songs.

Alternative radio is pretty weak right now too. But Fearless is looking at active rock and “radio friendly rock” are these two charts.

    joywave is a great band

  12. I like quite a few bands on the radio. Including Underoath. They’re in the upper tier for what they do imo.

Love seeing Portugal just raking in listens.
    They deserved the big break.

Hope they put out one more “weird” album. Just to throw people for a loop

I feel like this will grow on me a bit. I don’t think I’ll ever love it but some of the ideas here are cool and I genuinely think they can make better songs next time around. I hope they manage to get the success they’re seeking so they’re able to continue making music. Even if I’m not super hot on this record, it would bum me out to see it flop completely. Idk what kind of radio pull Fearless has but hopefully they get decent rotation on rock stations. Right now it looks like a very large portion of their old/current fan base really hates this album/the band’s rebranding, so I really hope they pull new ones in this cycle.

Definitely not true. UO is the only metalcore band I listen to and have no problem with them going in a new direction. I'm totally cool with a record that is more pop friendly with more singing. But, the majority of the album really falls flat for me.

Listening again, and for the first time in headphones, opener rules tbh. I hate Rapture less than I used to but still don’t particularly like it.

Sink With You might be a close second favorite. Also, the bridge in Ihateit is insane.

Enjoyed my second listen more. Sink With You is pretty good except for that jump scare part to end it. I underrated Hold Your Breath initially

Still think On My Teeth is good, but the chorus has definitely cooled on me a bit, I don’t particularly love the half time switch.

Don’t like Wake Me much at all, seems really... cheesy? Uh idk how else to describe it, not my thing.

Bloodlust is mostly really cool, but I can’t help but wish it had a better chorus, mostly lyrically.

I really like the drum break before the chorus of Sink With You, but the melodies to this song don’t quite hit me. There’s also a quality to this one where it feels kinda like... slapped together?

I think I kinda like Ihateit, I’m kinda mixed on the chorus but I really like the bridge.

Hold Your Breath is my favorite up to this point. Best chorus so far, and I really like the verses.

Lyrics are meh but I think the chorus and bridge on bloodlust are insanely good

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

Anyone else find the vocals on Bloodlust sound like Cove Reber at times?
