I spontaneously started screaming out of pure joy. I'm just glad I didn't swerve off the road B-)

I think some of the reason I'm liking this a lot is because I've always been more in the TOCS and DGL camp than LSS and Ø.

Those songwriters sound right. Johnny Lee is all over Wake Me and Rapture.

"In Motion" is probably my favorite after the first listen. I listened to the singles a bunch since they've been out, but I've abstained from the leak until getting my download card with my preorder. I've read parts of this thread here and there since its been "out there," but some of these songs aren't what was I was picturing when I was reading some of these reactions.

The aspect of this album that I'm most happy with is that Chris really got to shine on it. The three Spencer/Aaron albums prior to this always kept Chris to the very edges of those songs sans a few great pieces in "Emergency Broadcast" and "Desolate Earth."

Initial reaction from this is positive. I appreciate the risks and changes they've made to their sound here because they could have easily cashed in and made an Underoathy album that would be gobbled up by their fanbase.

I can definitely hear Feldmanns touch on the chorus of In Motion.

I feel like a lot of these songs, On My teeth in particular, could have been expanded and sounded a lot better. Another breakdown with some more screams at the end of OMT would have been fitting.

EDIT: also why did they have to spell I Hate It like they did. Yuck

As a software developer, I wish they had at least camelCased it to iHateIt :p

That's my geek input of the day

Rapture and On My Teeth fit really well within the overall context of the album. They did not do well for me as standalone pieces.

Decided to skip the leak since it was relatively close to release day. I’ve dug the two singles and a lot of the snippets, so I’m excited to listen tonight when it hits Apple Music.

Long shot, but if anyone got one of those Emo Nite exclusive green vinyl, please let me know. Currently the only one I'm missing!

After a few more listens, this record has definitely grown on me. However, I still find a lot of the songs kind of bland. I keep waiting for a lot of those songs to go somewhere, but they just never do. Also, the closer is seriously underwhelming.

Yeah I'm definitely going to make sure to delete the leak I downloaded and play exclusively through the Google Play Music stream once it's out. Wanna make sure I'm supporting the band and not accidentally playing my downloaded copy.

Lurking AP since 2005. Lurking Chorus since 2016.

I've really grown to like this record. The only things that really bother me are:
    - rapture and wake me (i could just not have these songs and by 10000% okay)
    - the lyrical content suffers quite a bit from previous work. definitely the worst since TOCS
    - i felt like there are too many bridge sections that feel cut short or not fully worked out. i'm sure that has something to do with keeping it in a shorter pop format.

Honestly, looking at the cowrites it kinds shows me that UO is still better off alone. My tops were No Frame, Hold Your Breath, Bloodlust, ihateit, and In Motion in that order. So all the non cowrites were what i leaned towards. (thought i can't believe that the chorus of ihateit wasn't a cowrite. it's butt rock as hell).

I was honestly baffled that Squire helped write Sink With You. That song is damn weird.

Received the 7” box set and the Opaque Acid Green copy of the record from Merchnow today... had to spin the last 7” to hear Loneliness. Song is a jam!! I think it will have more overall appeal to fans than parts of the album and people will say, “this song should have just been ON the album”. I think it’s catchy and has some fun Aaronisms.. not sure what else to add haha.

Four people in this band write the songs, what was the purpose of bringing in cowriters? Too many chefs in the kitchen

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I tried another listen today, and it still isn't doing a whole lot for me. As mentioned, the structures just aren't interesting. Instrumentally I wanted a lot more out of this, and I have a hard time even recalling a single riff on this album. Glad people are into it, but it's not for me and I'm extremely bummed this is the direction they decided to go in

Excited to hear it, and "Another Life." Were the lyrics "Prove me wrong, prove me wrong," in Loneliness? It was on one of their YouTube studio episodes, but didn't make the album.
