The Final Dossier also provides the answer to the question, “How’s Annie?”.

Just finished it today and it’s a great read. The Secret History is cool but it’s more interesting than enlightening. The Final Dossier is a lot of closure to plot threads not picked up in The Return and I think a must read that fills in some of the gaps.

Is this one the same way as Secret History in that it isnt fully endorsed by David Lynch?

I haven't seen anything to say he doesn't endorse them. That makes it sound to me like he's against them haha. Mark Frost just had free reign and Lynch had nothing to do with it.

Lynch probably does not care too much. Things like Sarah being the girl with the frog were in the work already, Lynch is just more worried about things other than narrative.

This is Frost's take on it from a recent interview with Salon.

You were the showrunner of the original "Twin Peaks," and you've arguably had more influence over this franchise than anyone. But should David's non-participation affect how fans approach the books? There's obviously some room for debate on this, but what are your thoughts? Should we consider the books an equal part of "Twin Peaks" universe?

Look, they are to me. [laughs] Lynch-Frost Productions did the series, but I wasn't involved with "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" [Lynch's critically panned 1992 film prequel], and frankly, David wasn't that involved with most of season 1 — he was off making [his 1990 film] "Wild at Heart." I think the analogy I would use is, "This is like the Beatles' "White Album." There are Paul songs; there are John songs; there are Beatles songs." But they're all ultimately on the album. That's how people should think about it.

The movie for sure. A lot of The Return is predicated on Fire Walk With Me

At this point, i'm very satisfied with the way things ended and don't feel I need more. But if David wanted to continue, I know it would be for good reason and I'd be on board.

Same. Definitely a great interview too, imo. I deeply enjoy knowing Lynch's thoughts unfiltered.

Would love to see him create and direct an entirely new show, rather than continue Twin Peaks. At least at the moment.

I agree with this. David would only do it again if he was sure it was worth it. If he decides to make more, I’m on board, but if they leave it alone forever I’m good with that too. The Return was better than I think any of us could have hoped for.

So I’ve been introducing my girlfriend to Twin Peaks and we just finished season 2 (she’s super upset that Mr. C is the one that made it out), but she brought up something interesting that I never thought about: Does Andy end up raising Dick son? Would that account for Wally’s more eccentric/Brando qualities? I don’t think it was ever mentioned so I’m curious to hear if I’m completely crazy in this.

I always thought that was kind of the point, that it was ambiguous whether he was Dick's or Andy's, with it maybe leaning a bit more in Dick's favor.

Mark Frost shed a little light on Dick Tremayne in his recent AMA. Perhaps answers the question of Wally's real father:
