I just keep thinking of him showing the card with the Judy/bug/whatever symbol to Darya and saying 'This. this is what i want.'

After watching them together, I think there's a lot of merit to that theory. The way it syncs up certain characters (Naido/Diane, Billy/Cooper) and events (Mr. C and Coop/Diane crossing over at the same time), random sound cues fitting perfectly in the opposite episode, and the way one episode will have a long seemingly uneventful scene while other has a major event tells me there was a lot of thought out into this.

The big one though is the ending. Laura's theme from 17 kicks in as Carrie and Richard walk up to the house, the dark turn in that song happens as the Chalfounts are mentioned, and the Sarah scene in 17 and the scream in 18 are so perfectly synced up, it's obviously one scene. I highly recommend at least finding the last 10 min together because it's chilling and awe inspiring.

The episodes are not meant to be watched together. You guys are starting to sound like those insane theories about The Shining in Room 237.

If you look closely during the intro you can see Laura's face in the clouds. What does it mean??

I mean, that shit is insane cause it starts to try and incorporate The Shining into reality. This is staying within the confines of the Twin Peaks world so it's not that crazy imo. Regardless, it's awesome to see so much thought put into this stuff. I haven't really read that article or watched them in unison tho so I can't say whether it does or does not have any merit.

If not, then there are a lot of crazy coincidences when you do. David Lynch is a pretty meticulous director. Does this theory really seem out of character for him?

He wrote this season for like 3 years so I think he would absolutely come up with something that wild.

One thing I've been wondering is what Jeffries meant by "who do you think that is there?!"

That line has always puzzled me but after this season I feel like he, maybe, became aware of Doppleganger Cooper through his jumping through realities/timelines and after suddenly ending up in the FBI Headquarters, was unsure of what year it was?

Andy has a Rolex watch. Given Lynch's previous comments about product placement and Andy's likely salary, that is a weird one.

another thing, apparently the Judy's diner is a real place, albeit located in North Carolina and called Rudy's. I hope the owners are prepared for years of Twin Peaks fans filing through haha.

You'll have to forgive me, as my memory is apparently awful, but wasn't the Bob orb already removed in episode 8? When did Mr. C get it back?

I live in Los Angeles and Eat at Rudy's is literally like a five minute drive from my house. I wonder if that's the one? Seems to make more sense than North Carolina.

EDIT: just looked it up. definitely the place by my house

I'm having kind of a similar reaction lol. Went for a hike yesterday and everything seemed a little off. I actually mentioned to someone last week that I felt out of sync while interacting with people. Maybe it's just the weed.

I had a similar icky feeling during the Skype call. Though, that one makes a little bit more sense and is totally a real life application that people use all the time.

Finally got a chance to discuss the finale with my dad, who introduced me to Lynch and is also a huge fan, and now that horrible feeling I got after watching it has come back. I want to believe the theories that say Judy was defeated and things are generally good but I still dont think thats the case.

There's a hole in my life with this show gone. Torn between wanting it to come back and wanting that ending to be the last we get

I dug deep into The Leftovers because I heard it follows a weirder trajectory than most shows. Enjoying it so far but nothing can really fill the hole TP left. I recently bought a "Meanwhile" shirt with Laura's hands and I'm going to order the Secret History soon to satisfy my grief

The executive producer did an AMA on the subreddit yesterday.

Things of note...the episodes are NOT meant to be watched overlapped (however that doesn't mean they don't sync up...just that they aren't meant to be watched simultaneously)

And the books are totally Mark Frost's thing and David doesn't contribute or approve. (including the upcoming final dossier).

She also views the season as a film and they shot it like one.

Both the OG sheriff truman and The Arm were asked to come back and declined. Donna 'didn't work out'; I don't think she was asked.

Almost done with the first season. Pretty solid stuff so far-- albeit the symbolism and allegorical storytelling is pretty heavy-handed. I'm into that though-- when literary elements are more significant than plot itself... I also like how reality seems to be permeable in this show as well (dream coalescing with reality), reminds me a bit of TP at points.
