“The first three seasons were good and then it sucked” is pretty much the Showtime mantra.

I was gonna add that Dexter's 4th season is its best but then I remember season 2

Early Edition. Aired on CBS from 1996 to 2000. My dad liked it when I was a kid.

Kyle Chandler mysteriously gets the next day's newspaper delivered to him every morning. He uses his knowledge of future events to stop deadly accidents from happening

The Good Doctor is by David Shore, the same guy who created House. They likely have many of the same writers too.

  7. Oh I vaguely remember that one from my childhood. That's how I discovered Kyle Chandler, as Friday Night Lights didn't end up airing in my country afterwards (from what I know at least).

Teen Angel. Aired for one 17 episode season on ABC's TGIF lineup during the 97/98 season. It was ABC trying to followup on the success of Sabrina.

A highschooler who dies from eating a 6 month old hamburger on a dare comes back to be the guardian angel to his grieving best friend. It was created and written by people who worked on the Simpsons. I just remember Ron Glass playing God's cousin named Rod.

Yeah it was called You Wish. It actually aired and was canceled the same season as Teen Angel.

I guess in 97 ABC tried really hard to push the supernatural teen sitcom thing after how successful Sabrina's first season was.

Yeah it was a weird show. It was like the sense of humor of Simpsons and Futurama writers in a show that was obviously developed and marketed by the network to be another family friendly wholesome TGIF sitcom. Not hard to tell why it didn't work.

You know the show is unusual because the N is backwards.

*insert ancient one you’re years too early meme here* The world wasn’t ready for the supernatural teen sitcom/drama yet. But their kids will love them!

This feels like a show that if it did exist, it's been forgotten by time.

I remember this being SUPER HYPED UP and then before the end of the first season people had already checked out and said it had disappeared up its own arse. Heroes-esque arc

I miss Heroes, and by Heroes, I mean good Heroes, that didn't reset status quo every fucking season and didn't immediately destroy any interesting plot thread it introduced.
