Awesome - So it looks like not many tickets left for the La Dispute show - only resale on Ticketmaster at face value by looks of it. So might want to snap them up. SWG3 is a cool venue. Its a converted warehouse so is very cool in that sense. I would say as its at the "west end" side of Glasgow, i would probably look to spend some time there. The venue is walkable from the main "west end" kind of places. If miserable weather, id just Uber it. Also at night, I personally would just get an Uber rather than walk home. I am at Paramore that night which is at an Arena literally 5mins away, I am driving so more than happy to pick you up with my partner and drop you off at the hotel/accommodation after your show. As probably done around the same time. Totally appreciate I am a stranger on the internet, so no worries if wanna do your own thing in that regard.

If the weather is to be believed and it is to be dry, you could do necropolis in morning (opposite side of city). There is a brewery ive went to before Drygate which is good and does decent food or Bounce back into city centre for lunch (Paesano pizza or Bucks Bar would be my recs!), then subway to west end (hillhead/Kelvingrove) which is kind of the "hip" area, not negatively, but has alot going on. So about there is Kelvingrove park / museum, then along at argyle street is a lot of bars and cool reteraunts. Like so much going on even we are wanting to spend more time trying the places out.

I think as La Dispute / Paramore playing that evening you will find the area with similar folk also.

Hope that helps a little. Pretty late here. I cant get image of map i have anotated to work so heres link https://ibb.co/dQN9dCQ

Anyone been to Buenos Aires and have must-see spots to hang or grab a bite to eat? Don’t really know too much about the city, but got a couple days there before/after traveling down to Patagonia and just looking for something chill to do.

I just got back at the start of the month! Used it as a home base to see el calafate and iguazu falls but spent our largest chunk of time there, ~4-5 days. We basically made an itinerary based on the popular TripAdvisor sites and a lot of exploratory walking so I’d probably look up the kinds of things you usually gravitate to (museums, sports, parks, walking tours, tourist spots, etc) and do those things. A day in Palermo/recolata and a day downtown will cover the major things.

My favorite restaurant we ate at was La Cabrera in Palermo. Relatively pricy, but astounding. La Panera Rosa is a great dessert place (multiple locations, but the one in Palermo/Recoleta was the prettiest), but Cafe Tortoni is the most famous and is also worth a trip. All that said, everything we ate was great. Some of the best steak I’ve ever had. Beyond steak/grill houses, pizza will by far be the most common restaurant.

Get enough money at the airport to get you to your lodgings (or just Uber, cheaper than airport taxi) and then use the blue rate (black market exchange if you haven’t researched yet) to get far more pesos for your American money. Uber or taxi within the city will cost you up to like $5 a ride so while subway may be even cheaper, Uber is way more convenient. Feel free to ask away or DM if you have questions. I went with my parents and we were all very impressed with the city.

Went to Japan for a few weeks to attend an event. Here's just a few of the over 2,000 photos I took.

booked a trip to Asheville. It's a delayed honeymoon since covid kinda wrecked everything and we had to cancel the original plans. Have tickets to tour the Biltmore and booked a stay at a Japanese spa in the mountains. This will be the first vacation of our marriage.

Asheville is gorgeous and I haven't even done the Biltmore. Downtown Asheville is a brewery and foodie heaven if either of those are your thing. Tons of art studios and galleries as well plus all gorgeous nature activities in the surrounding area. You'll have a blast.

I’ll be in asheville and new orleans in early october, just scoping out both cities as potential homes for me. then coming back to austin, hostelling for a few weeks while working, then ideally moving to one of the two!

feeling strongly guided toward asheville which is why I want to move to new orleans instead.

  12. I absolutely love Asheville. The Orange Peel is a killer venue if there are any shows there that interest you while there. Also, recommend visiting the Moog Factory.

If you're into beer, Zillicoah is a must especially if you're going during the Fall since they have a large outdoor area behind the brewery.

Asheville fkin ruled, cannot emphasize how beautiful it was. Absurd that a place with that many trees still exists in human society lol

i felt like i was walking in a dream i had dreamed when i was 20

like i had visions of a place and the french quarter was that place though i’d never seen it before

my name is joan too and i relate hard to joan of arc and there was some spirituality associated there

also some loss tied to the city as a close friend left austin for nola and in the process of leaving we fell out hard

but yeah i’m moving there provided things work out, it feels like time

Looking to book an adults only all inclusive for next December.

Jamaica or Punta Cana? We’ve been to PC before and stayed at a family friendly Royalton (we were there for a wedding) but I’ve heard iffy things on Jamaica.

We’d be choosing between Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters in Montego Bay or Excellence El Carmen (better room) all same price.

Or does anyone have any other All inclusive adults only island recs?

I’m in Tokyo for the first time and gosh it’s amazing. Things are typically very cheap, everyone is so kind, it’s really easy to get around (if you have familiarity with other metro systems).

for lunch I had a ginger ale, dim sum, macaroni salad, fried rice, and Sichuan spicy noodles for 1300 yen, which is $8.75.

Make sure to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, there are phenomenal views and lots of vantage points. There are also tons of waterfalls along the way, some of them right off the road. The Biltmore Estate is pricey and touristy, but a wild thing to behold. My wife and I also booked a session in a Japanese spa in the mountains, but that was more of a romantic thing lol.

Tons of good restaurants and bookstores to be found!
