ticket sales have been not so great for Bonnaroo the last few years. so many fests this year are dropping lineups early and getting ticket buyers locked in. Bonnaroo won’t have their lineup till mid January.

theres rumors that the Bonnaroo presale was very light this year so they’re slowly leaking artists to try and drive that up. festive owl already leaked Tipper a week ago.

festive owl is on the LN payroll so this tends to back up the slow presale rumor.

I was surprised last year when Lolla was selling out as fast as it was. It hadn't moved that fast in like five years.

It’s a lot easier to get people to commit to a weekend in Chicago (in a hotel) vs camping in a grass field in 95-100 degree temps.

after 15yrs of going to Bonnaroo, last year was my final. Its just too difficult to recharge after staying out for sunrise sets and then trying to sleep in your tent at 8am when it’s already an oven in there.

very happy to trade my tent in for a rental house in Palm spring for Coachella this year.

That's my thought. Really hard to beat that it's in the middle of the city and easy to get to from anywhere. A weekend in Tennessee doesnt't scream fun to me anymore.

  6. I sometimes wonder if I could handle Cornerstone Festival now if it was still going. The heat was brutal some years, but I was a teenager with infinite energy so I really didn't care.

I think that's Governors Ball's advantage as well, it's right in NYC (you can get there by subway) which helps move tickets to lineups that are mostly B-B+ bookings.

I know there’s like a culture around Bonnaroo that keeps a lot of people going back and buying tickets without knowing the lineup but I don’t think it's ever been worth it to buy tickets before a lineup is announced, especially with the prices these days.

I’d love to go to Bonnaroo someday. I had friends who went in 2014 and I couldn’t go so I missed Meshuggah, Deafheaven, Mastodon, CHVRCHES, Janelle Monae, and some others I don’t remember. I’d love to go next year but I ain’t buying unless I know who’s playing.

we have a private car service taking and picking us up (our boujie friends that are going paid for it, I wouldn’t have)

we wanted a spot with a private pool and close to good restaurants for brunch on Easter.

that’d the issue with those one time reunions. Shit feels good to do and you make a lot of money, so it’s like, why not keep doing it?
