Struck out for both that and Sam Fender this morning. I don't think the JW shows will be that hard to get into though second hand

Is Jack White still doing the no phones thing? Don't see it listed anywhere on any of the shows

I don’t think so. My uncle saw him a month or so back at one of his small shows and was taking pics/videos. Looked like others were doing the same

Great lineup. I really like how they’ve been branching out the last few years and are booking more younger acts and more “punk adjacent” bands (Peter Hook, Power Trip), instead of the same usual acts

I’m shocked that Social D has never played this before though

For me first 2 lines are solid and I would catch as many as I could, but lines 3-7 are were this lineup really has me interested

Yeah that’s probably the best PRB lineup in awhile, would love to go

I’m at Dillinger Escape Plan and they are playing a 2200 person venue tonight and the box office person I know said they sold half. So did they totally overestimate how interested people are in seeing this band without Greg? Or the lore over how rough Dimitri has been has traveled already? Cause those NYC tickets went quick.

I saw Dillinger at No Values and I thought maybe they sounded rough because it was their first show back. It is insane Dillinger with Greg was easily the best heavy band live, I legit felt bad for any band trying to play after them.

I’m kind of surprised. I thought there was a lot of hype over the Dimitri reunion

DEP philly show was with pissed jeans and red chord too. guess they really burned out the northeast demand with the NYC shows. no matter how groundbreaking or revered calculating is, the reality is the band went on for another 16 years to greater popularity, and to a vast majority of fans, greg DEP is their DEP. dimitri reunion inherently was always going to have a lesser appeal, no matter how loud "they were only good with dimitri" people can be. when it was just the NYC shows, for all we knew that would be it, but now we are 10 shows deep and have at least another 2 coming next year. i became a fan with calculating, would love to see them with dimitri now, but greg DEP is DEP to me, and I would be a bit disappointed if they just became an active band again.

I don’t know what the upstairs and downstairs bar area looked like but I’d say the main floor was about 2/3 full, but they had the curtains down to cut off that other part of the room and like I said don’t know how packed they were. The band was amazing, Dimitri hurt his ankle at that floor show on Friday. And he doesn’t have the pipes he had 25 years ago but a fun show none the less. And I agree as much as the band doesn’t want to hear it, DEP with Greg is the band, and I don’t know how interested I’d be in hearing new stuff with Dimitri

I'd still be interested in hearing Calculating infinity front to back but I also have very little interest in what dillinger with dimitri new material would sound like, and it sucks that they probably cannot pull off any of their later material because Dimitri doesn't seem to have much range vocal wise. Even if Greg doesn't come back full time i'd be cool if they bring him back for some shows.

Greg would never come back to DEP. There’s beef there I’m pretty sure.

the beef is really on Ben’s end and somewhat Liam against Greg, I don’t think Greg ever wanted Dillinger to end. Ben just didn’t want to work/deal with him anymore.

What happened between them? I could tell their was definitely distaste for Greg when Ben called him out as a independent contractor.

he did a really in depth interview with I wanna say revolver where he talked about it all, but to sum it up he just couldn’t take Greg’s “chaos” anymore. He is a free spirit who when he rights and records would get messed up, party on the road etc and Ben is very much a family guy. Essentially they didn’t really seem to like each other very much for a lot of the run and towards the end he just didn’t want to be around him anymore.

That sucks but I can see that Ben looks very much now like a family man, i'll look into that Revolver interview.
