Flyers have been posted up in Hollywood about a Motley Crue "hollywood takeover" that's 3 shows with 1 at the whisky, 1 at the roxy and 1 at the troubadour

Was thinking about Linkin Park openers the other day. They might have the widest breadth of realistic choices of any band.

they could go with another big alt rock band like Rise Against or BMTH.

they could go with a rock adjacent rapper like Tech N9ne.

they could disappoint us all and get a butt rock band like Breaking Benjamin or Shinedown.

they could do a nu metal peer of theirs like Deftones.

or they could have their pick of the litter of any up and coming artist even remotely in the world of rap, rock or metal.

Rise against has toured with them before but they are putting out a new album early next year that they prolly want to tour on their own

that LP tour will probably be the biggest hard rock tour of 2025, if they were asked they would 100% do it

LP made a significant effort around Minutes To Midnight to distance themselves from the nu metal scene. Their tour mates from then onwards were the likes of MCR, TBS, Placebo, Chris Cornell, Incubus, Mutemath, AFI, Rise Against, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Coheed & Cambria, etc. Deftones are the only ones I can see them touring with from that scene.

Almost went to that Blinkin Park show before it was cancelled in 2017.

    - Linkin Park
    - Blink 182
    - Wu Tang Clan
    - Machine Gun Kelly

    what a line up

They always had really interesting combos. The modern equivalent of this, I think, would be having direct support pulling from the harder side of that punk/emo adjacent pool (e.g., BMTH or Rise Against) with a more alt-rocky "pop" artist in the middle and a younger hardcore band opening everything up.

EDIT: After reading a few other posts... Turnstile, AWOLNATION, and Scowl is something I could fully see happening. I don't think it would actually happen. But it would look good on paper? Hah.

Is a Linkin Park and Bad Omens tour out of the realm of possibility?

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Deftones would make sense as an opener, but I couldn’t see it. There’s a new album that should be out next year and with how much recognition they’ve been getting recently, I feel like they’d want to take advantage and do their own headlining tour
