    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Blur would’ve been better off just doing a handful of headlining shows in the states. The demand is there to see them (the Pomona show they did sold out in minutes and people literally flew in for it), but they played in front of the wrong crowd.

No Blur fan would pay $500 for a Coachella pass to see Blur play a one hour set. I’m sure it was a good paycheck for them to do it, and it seems Damon has a good relationship with someone at Goldenvoice. But yeah, that wasn’t a wise move…

I’m assuming the Gorillaz/Blur booking was connected in some way. The stream made it look like there were less than a couple thousand people there.

A headline slot at Riot with some British bands playing before (Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines) would have been cool. But it is what it is.

Damon said in an interview over the weekend that Blur was a last-minute booking and they ultimately accepted the gig under pressure. But it seemed like Damon was keen to do it since he’s played it multiple times with other acts, which lead to that decision.

Hope it doesn’t turn them off from coming back to the states. The crowd was super into them at the Pomona show and they all looked so genuinely happy to be there

Didn't they rebrand to Best Ex?

this is incorrect, death star supremacy!!!but i think at that point DGD was struggling to gain any traction with kurt. his live performances were sometimes not up to par, and the fanbase really wanted them to bring back johnny. i could be wrong, but i believe this predates the macbook scandal as well as the countless other issues he has been caught up in.

the kurt stuff aged really well and people definitely appreciate uneasy hearts, but at the time it probably was partially a financial decision, partially them getting tired of working with Kurt as well.

Lol @ thinking the fucking Bamboozle fest would've done well considering the shitshow it was behind the scenes from what I heard.

John // OC now, OH forever.

To be fair, Blur was before No Doubt. No Doubt played before Tyler, which probably explains why the crowd was pretty quiet for them as well despite it being a big reunion. Fans popped more for Olivia Rodrigo than they did for No Doubt.

I'd have put Peso Pluma before Tyler on Saturday and No Doubt before Lana on Friday and move Blur to closing a smaller stage for sure.
