Hahaha I was just curious. I feel like I brought up a valid point? Like I treat women the same as men and if girls make good ass music I’m down. If guys make good ass music I’m also down.

 

Going down the worm hole of YouTube there are so many good female fronted bands no one knows about icon for hire yours truly dreamstate eclipse for eyes half-lives but they are all from over seas and Hardly ever come to the states so saying there aren’t that many good female fronted bands clearly you know nothing

 

I dont see how this guy doesn't understand that hard left leaning label execs and tour organizers everywhere are sitting on literally hundreds of talented female fronted bands that could blow up and make them millions on purpose because of misogyny.

 

Icon For Hire toured with Makeout, so I don't wanna talk about them.

I checked out a couple Dreamstate songs a while back and really dug them, I should probably dig deeper some time. Plus their cover of Crawling was really good.

 

Just go to the Father/Daughter records website and just lose hours into a bunch of good music, most of it fronted or featuring women,POC, and lgbtq members

 

There’s a channel on YouTube called dreambound and like Almost all of the bands on there are female fronted bands

 

Most of the time with these tours, people ask for just the bare minimum of representation. I remember in this thread people were trying to come up with how many tours adtr did with women in them, and someone came up with "paramore was on warped 2011" and that doesn't even count. When you have to dig and see where female representation has ever occurred, that's quite pathetic. There are plenty of polished, fun sounding pop punk bands fronted by women that would totally go over well in these crowds, but never see the light of day

 

The upcoming Chevelle/Breaking Benjamin tour has two great female fronted bands as opening acts.

 

It’s really not that hard to have female musicians on tours. Foxing had Ratboys and Kississippi open. PUP is having Ratboys and (on part of the tour) Beach Bunny open. Vampire Weekend is having Soccer Mommy open part of their tour. Father John Misty/Jason isbell are having Jade Bird open most of their tour. The list goes on. The point is there are tons of female fronted bands out there that a band as big as A Day To Remember not having any open their tours is ridiculous.

 

Mortality Rate should open the ADTR tour

Also this is kind of related to women getting on more tours but not really, but I'd really like if we could stop comparing every single pop punk band with a woman in it to Paramore.

 

Pretty much this. I just try to not announce my support for controversial bands though because I don't have time for the criticism.

I do think it's interesting how each of the music communities I'm in online have different reactions to this stuff. Metalsucks is mostly people defending Tim, Metal Hammer and Metal Injection seems neutral, and this site and Lambgoat seem to mostly be extremely anti-Tim.

 

This would be dope.

 

This has annoyed me for years. As far back as VersaEmerge and Automatic Loveletter I've heard many people do this.

 

To be fair, Paramore are the BIGGEST female fronted pop punk band in the world, so that comparison would get made by almost everyone.

 

You know what female fronted band should get on more tours? Flyleaf. I’m assuming they are still a thing but they had some jams back in the day.

 

Flyleaf have been on hiatus since 2016.

 

I mean I get it, but by that logic I can say every male fronted pop punk band sounds just like Blink-182. Like the comments on every Eat Your Heart Out video are either gross comments about Caitlin or someone saying "wow they sound JUST like Paramore". Which I really really don't see the comparison.
