BackWordz (a new Rap influenced Djent/Metalcore band that seems to be generating hype) just asked on Facebook if anybody would come see them if they toured with Bad Omens, Cane Hill, Sylar, and My Ticket Home.

I'm assuming it was hypothetical, but seemed pretty specific

I see their advertisements on Facebook all the time.

I also approve. This is what the first two years were. Last year was a departure from what it started as. I was chatting with one of the guys behind Snowed In and he told me that this years would be more to my taste. He was right.

Neck Deep and Moose Blood are opening the UK leg of ADTR's Bad Vibes world tour. Of Mice & Men and Tonight Alive are opening the Australian leg. Can't wait for the U.S. dates to get announced!

    but does it djent?

I want to start some speculation here. With a new Metallica album gracing our ears in November, they said they plan to do extensive touring for that album so it begs the question if there would be support for the tour? A part of me thinks that it would be like 3 hours of pure Metallica but on Black Sabbath's Farewell tour there is a support band. So who do you think could potentially open for Metallica, if anyone?

Death Magnetic tour had 2 legs. Machinehead was one and Lamb of God was the other. It'll be a popular metal band that can headline an arena but needs solid support. My picks would be Hatebreed, Volbeat, FFDP, Gojira or even A7X.

I wish that UK lineup will hit the US but I doubt it. Have we floated around any guesses? Issues?

    but does it djent?

I'm going to guess A7X, Volbeat, KoRn perhaps, maybe even Slayer?

I was thinking about Slayer but aren't they taking a break for awhile or is that just for recording?

    but does it djent?

They are doing some of the fall festivals (Louder Than Life, Houston Open Air) and have a fall tour with Anthrax so I guess not.

Issues and Letlive with ADTR for US... just speculating

I guess we'll see what happens. I'm guessing the Metallica tour will be early next year and if the album is like the single, Slayer would fit in perfectly! I'd love another Big 4 tour but Mustaine would never go for it.

I could get down with this.

In terms of Metallica, a lot of the names already mentioned seem like the right ones. My guess is they will take Avenged and Volbeat out.

I'm holding out for Wage War to be on it.

That would be HUGE for them on top of what's already been a massive year. I'd be happy to see them on that but I don't think they would be direct support.

Letlive would definitely be cool with ADTR

I'd hope for Letlive and maybe a pop punk band. Looking at the UK support it definitely seems possible

They would probably be the first band opening out of three or four bands I'm sure.

It's probably unlikely (especially in 2017) but it would be awesome if ADTR brought out ABR again. I really want them to mix up the support this next time.

Me too. Issues has opened for them before. I don't dislike Issues but how much could they gain from opening for ADTR again? I really liked the lineup for the House Party Tour with All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, and The Wonder Years.

I'd love this so much. Definitely prefer ABR as an opener to Issues.

The US Death Magnetic tours had 2 openers

    Down / The Sword
Lamb Of God / The Sword
    Machine Head / The Sword
    Lamb Of God / Gojira
    Lamb Of God / Volbeat
    Machine Head / Volbeat

Aside from maybe Down, none of those were really surprising, Lars constantly gushed about The Sword in press, as did James with Machine Head's The Blackening being his favorite album at the time. Volbeat have been a longtime favorite of theirs as well. So if you start to hear any of them keep going on about some newer band/album, that might be a hint.

Avenged/Volbeat isn't a horrible guess as that was the support for last week's one off show, and would make for a stacked lineup. Though since both of those bands are pretty big in their own right, perhaps they will split legs, and they will have smaller bands in the first slot again. Personally would love to see Torche or Red Fang (both were hand picked for Orion festival).

Totally forgot about The Sword. Good call. That's the thing about Metallica, almost any band would say yes, regardless of size. Meaning, a band like Disturbed would open for them so it's hard to count anyone out. We just have to keep our ears open about any bands James, Kirk, Lars or Robert talk about in interviews.

I think that's the key point, Metallica comes knocking you say yes. I fully expect a stacked lineup.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Metro Station is announcing a tour today with tickets going on sale tomorrow. I'm thinking it's probably a ten-year tour for their self-titled album in 2017.
