the best crowd for every band i've ever seen was at broken world festival 2016. the best world is set, the best pinegrove set, the best rozwell kid set, the best empire empire set...this is what happens when you get a bunch of people who all like all the same bands and are all part of the same internet community in the same room. what a perfect weekend

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I was in a surprisingly great crowd for Green Day last month. Definitely did not expect it. @heymattrick can vouch for this one.

Yea I was about to bring that one up. It was the perfect balance of people being into it, but also being respectful of each other.

I have two stories of bad TBS stories, the first was my wife got into a fight after their set bc the tech threw her a drumstick, she didnt quite have it so it fell, she grabbed it & at the same time some girl easily twice her size tried to rip it out of her hands when she already had it. It got so bad that the girl literally spun my wife around trying to get the stick out of her hand & security got involved & told the girl to leave. I saw Mark at the next show & he said that happens more than he cared to admit.

Then the last time we saw them in Philly for Taste of Chaos last summer, I was crowd surfing over the barricade & had this big biker looking dude cold cock me in the face as security was pulling me out of the crowd.

I've noticed this is a bigger issue though with bands like TBS, its happened plenty of times at anniversary shows where people act entitled to a barricade spot, but we showed up at like 12-1PM to ensure we got that spot.

Ironically, I think the best crowd i've ever been in was at Warped 05. It was stupid hot that day & I just remember everyone having fun moshing & crowd surfing & when people wanted to crowdsurf out bc they were too hot, especially during MCR's set, people were more than willing to help out. That show set the bar almost too high for me, when it comes to show etiquette.

Warped Tour 2012 after TSSF was the coolest thing I had seen. My bag ripped open, it was the first set of the day. My wallet and phone fell out of it. Lots of people lost things. People were holding up everything that was dropped. Everyone was working together to help people who had lost stuff. Someone found my phone, texted the first person on my texts and found my friend who I was with. It was an awesome gesture even though the crowd during the set was crazy.

Saves the Day in a club setting was very fun with an awesome crowd full of camaraderie. Can't speak for their festival crowd. In Chicago. At a Bears rally. (See Saves the Day thread for reference).

My favorite crowds have been at Enter Shikari show. You have people moshing, people crowd surfing, people dancing and when the time is ready, everyone helps with the "human pyramids". It's a complete blast!

Being someone that saw them in 2015, I can confirm this. Unfortunately, there was no human pyramid at the show though.

And to add to the discussion (of worst crowds), I haven't been to enough shows to make an answer, but I remember when I saw my date of The Chaos Tour (Attila/Chelsea Grin/Emmure/Sylar) late last year, some guy punched me in the back of the head during Chelsea Grin's set. Fortunately, it didn't injure me at all, but it did leave a good bruise near my neck.

EDIT: Then again, this is a heavy show. There's bound to be those assholes punching people for some senseless reason.

    Best crowds I've been in:
    Primus
most Jam Band shows I've attended. If you don't like old hippies, you won't enjoy it. Very kind crowd, though.
    New Found Glory
    Set Your Goals circa 2007

    Worst:
Kid Rock (literally had a drunk guy come up to me and say "This place is great because there's no n****** here")
Fall Out Boy/Paramore (not rude or aggressive, but very disinterested. Half the crowd left before FOB even did their encore)
Warped Tour 2011 (only year I can remember the main stage crowd actively getting on my nerves. Tons of rude kids camped out all day for ADTR's closing set who couldn't care less about any other band)
Blink 182 ever since the 2009 reunion

    Things have changed.

Never seen such rude people. They opened for Anberlin a looooooooong time ago, and their fans were openly violent to fans of the other opening bands (purposely punching people in the crowd) and mocking all the people there to see Anberlin.

I saw Against Me play at Bonnaroo in 2015. I crowdsurfed, went back to my spot, and realized my phone had fell out of my pocket. I retraced my steps, told people I lost my phone, and asked if I could talk to the security at the barricade. Not a single person gave me a hard time. Turns out someone picked up my phone and passed it to the front. I spent the rest of the day thinking that my phone would have been long gone and I wouldn't have been able to go to the barricade at any other show

Coheed probably has the best crowds for sure, a lot of the people are great, but then if you are in the Facebook groups they have a lot of elitist
