Calling it an "epic comeback" is a bit premature unless the album is confirmed great. Haha. But I'm already feeling the stress about getting tickets to this...

Thinking of some heavy bands that were on big summer tours this year: Piece the Veil, Bring Me the Horizon, Scowl, Anxious, Bad Omens, Pinkshift, Sleep Token, Spiritbox, Drain, Knocked Loose, LS Dunes.

Probably none of them. But I'd happily take any of those over 21 Pilots haha

No idea how Green Day can do stadium dates in North America without a heavy hitter opener or two. I imagine they mean ballparks. THe Black Keys, Paramore, 21 Pilots, etc could all be fits in terms of ticket draw.

It's interesting that people talk about Green Day being a stadium draw like it was ever a consistent thing throughout their career.

I'd imagine they were able to pull it off at some point during the Dookie album cycle but other than that... The last leg of the American Idiot tour is probably the only moment I can think of in terms of being a major stadium draw on a full tour.

They've done ball parks sporadically but never like, a proper run. They've usually been more of a hockey arena, ampitheater kinda band draw-wise so far as I can tell.

They weren't stadium level in the Dookie era. Very few alternative young bands at the time were, only Pearl Jam could have possibly done it and they were in the anti-Ticketmaster phase of their career. American Idiot tour had a few scattered NFL stadiums towards the end but that's it. They'll need significant support to do ballparks in major markets (a la Hella Mega). Europe/Asia is a different story.

 

Yeah they can only do stadiums in some markets. They did Rose Bowl in 2017. They also played whatever stadium the A’s play at on that same tour too
