I was just thinking the other day how I'd love to check out a sincere engineer headline show.

Sp = simple plan to me and ik he probably meant smashing pumpkins but the way he said it could have be for either band since both have a guitarist named Jeff. I was trying to make joke of some kind

People don’t realize that SP has always had a contentious relationship with casual concert goers. Even in the Siamese Dream era they would do 15 minute jams of “Silverfuck” and stuff like Billy doing a 5-minute rant in the middle of “I Am One”

Billy went on like a 3-4 minute rant with James about how the crowd was standing for hits and then sitting back down for deep cuts/new songs and was like “I feel like we’re in aerobics class with how they keep getting up then sitting down” and James was like “yeah man, anyways stay standing for this one” and they played Tonight Tonight lol

I saw them last November with Jane’s Addiction and it was one of the best shows I’ve been to. Having that third guitarist really adds to their love sound, tbh. I’m glad Jeff got a permanent spot

SP still deliver live, really enjoy that they don’t just play the hits. Seeing legacy acts still trying to challenge their audience is pretty rare now. It’s mostly shut and play the hits.

According to setlist dot fm they played Hummer (their best song), Jellybelly (one of their best heavy songs and they never play it) and This Time (a very good Machina I song). Those people suck lol

Man, Jellybelly and Hummer are like my two favorite songs of theirs. I fucked up missing their tour this summer :(

Yeah it came nowhere near me, and I missed the Jane's Addiction tour due to a wedding. However, they brought out some deep cuts for Riot Fest in 2021 (Quiet, Crush) and the crowd was super into it. Not surprising given it's a hometown show for them, but even Billy rated the crowd 10/10 afterwards which I feel is impossible.

The setlist though from their first tour back with James was absolutely incredible, i mean just look at it lol The Smashing Pumpkins Setlist at United Center, Chicago

I wonder if it's US or Australia? One of their comments hints that Dear Seattle is opening, and they're an Australian band

It is brutally hot at Iowa Is For Lovers. Has been 96 degrees, with humidity feels like 105 - been that the past few hours. The Forecast’s drummer almost passed out (like it was very concerning as he’s a bigger guy). Energy is running real low.

It sounds like Kevin will only be playing with them for the first half of the tour. Idk who will be on the second leg. But it seems like he’s there as a pinch hitter for Chad

Chad said at the Philly date, they are with them, in case he doesn’t feel well enough, or has an emergency; then they can still play. Everyone was unsure how he would do on this tour.
