Most people know about 6 all american rejects songs. And I would say the radio crowd only knows 2 new found glory songs. Though I would say new found glory has the more die hard fan base

    Things have changed.

The Rejects have way more cultural cache – and at least four stone-cold pop hits that would get played in a grocery store. NFG has none. Not rocket science.

  4. Yeah I think if you ask the average radio listener they might be able to recall My Friends Over You while calling out like 3-4 AAR songs

NFG’s popularity is definitely interesting. I’d say they were the least popular out of their peers (Sum 41, Good Charlotte, etc.) yet today I think they have the bigger fanbase compared to others.

    And there you have it!

I remember when I was a kid in the mid-2000’s and AAR was inescapable. I specifically remember their videos being played every week on VH1’s Top 20 countdown. They were all over the radio too

I was at that show, and have been to that venue many times. It was definitley near sold out if not sold out, place was jam packed. JT talked a little between like…two songs. But not excessively and the crowd likes it. I went with a group of 4 people, and they All said they think JT works the crowd well.

I mean JT is 47. I could see why he would talk a bit between songs to stretch the set out a bit lol

I now wonder if those Andrew McMahon shows that TSL are doing in July have anything to do with the routing of the AAR tour. It seems weird that TSL would be traveling to Orlando and Atlanta just for two shows. Though those dates are in July and it was rumored that the AAR tour was more late summer.

At that point, it just becomes a storytellers tour lol

it’s so funny that you used that metric to measure their success. Maybe a month ago I was in a Walmart that was BLASTING The Last Song and I thought to myself “huh, there’s about 5 AAR songs I’d expect Walmart to play and this is not one of them”

The show last week? All I was saying is that the balcony wasn’t even open, so tickets were already limited to begin with. And the bottom didn’t sell out either. All I was responding to was saying they were selling out mid-sized venues and that was not the case - even in their home state.

This. Idk if you were at the show or not, but Jay is correct the balcony was open. And the venue was pretty packed. There was only a handful of tickets not sold. Pretty damn close to selling out. So all I’m saying is you’re misinformed

Also generally bands don’t add extra dates to struggling tours Alfm
