I was at that Riot Fest. They played at the same time as Weezer and The Cure (I think) and the crowd was still massive!

Not to mention that the entire set sounded like one long ass song.

Yeah, I must say Slayer has never really impressed me live. As far as the Big Four of Thrash go, I think Megadeth and Anthrax put on much better shows when I saw them. I haven't seen Metallica yet...

Agreed I watched them from the other stage at Rock Allegiance and just sat on the ground their entire set basically. I feel LOG is bigger, wish they would be headlining.

I would put it Metallica (seen twice +1 upcoming), Megadeth (seen twice), Anthrax (seen twice + 1 upcoming), Slayer (seen 7 times).

I believe they played during Rise Against and Jane's Addiction. I was watching Rise Against instead of them. It was Bring Me The Horizon, The Cure and Weezer at the same time I am pretty sure.

Ah yes that sounds correct. I remember that was a terrible set by Rise Against and the first to tip me off that Tim's voice is pretty shot.

No his voice is not shot. I saw them the night before for the pre show and it was one of the best sets I have ever seen by them. I saw them twice back in 2015 with killswitch engage and he sounded fine. I think he was sick or something that night plus the fact it was raining all night and they had set problems all night. Granted I have seen them 9 times live and the riot fest set is the only show where they have sucked. I will be at the upcoming tour with deftones and thrice marking the 10th time seeing them

I saw them 2 more times after that Riot Fest set and it just wasn't good at all. Maybe I had bad nights or you had great nights but I'm not the only one who thinks this.

He sounded like shit at riot fest not gonna lie about that he didn't scream as much as he usually dose. And I prolly did have good nights one was the first stop of the tour the other was like 2 weeks later. Guess we will found out on this up coming tour. I hope they have a new single or album out by them I'm tired of hearing the same set list over and over

That could be it! It's just like Chino from Deftones and Ben from Breaking Benjamin. The longer the tour, the worse they get. I agree that a new song is needed. They had the same setlist for the last 4 years now.

  13. Ben Buchnat

    Whatever. Forever.

Yea because I saw them at Summerfest last year and Tim sounded good. Probably because it was basically a one-off.

pitchfork headliners are solange, LCD soundsystem, and tribe called quest

Could be the case. The last time I heard them sound really good was on the RA/Silverstein/CbK tour. He was off on that RA/Alkaline Trio/Thrice/Gaslight tour, he was ok at whatever Bamboozle they played at and he was off at that Nassau Coliseum show.

That's such a strong top line. LCD at Lolla last year was one of my favorite performances ever, and I was really hoping for ATCQ. Can't say I listen to Solange much, but it's still a cool grab, and I'll definitely check out her new album, since I've heard such good things.

really really need to see LCD soon. solange is fantastic and i respect tribe a lot.
lower lines are going to be great i'm pretty sure, not sure i can justify going two years in a row but this is going to rule i'm sure

Yea I definitely understand. These festivals are such huge commitments financially and personally. I've been wanting to go years and never pulled the trigger, so I'm definitely doing it this year. I have a good feeling about the undercard. Hoping Pinegrove and Mitski will be there, among others.

Seriously though you should consider at least doing a one day for LCD. I can't understate how incredible their live show is, and I wasn't even that big of a fan when I saw them.

it's far, i'd basically have to fly out. at that point it's worth doing all three days, hahaha.
i'm almost certain pinegrove will be there, i've had that vibe for quite some time

    but does it djent?

Has anyone heard anything about some big summer rap tours?

I know Future has that tour with Migos, Tory Lanez, Kodak Black, A$AP Ferg, and Young Thug but there are usually like two or three more big summer rap tours.

My bad I just assumed you were from the Chicago area haha yea that's definitely a different situation. And I agree about Pinegrove. Definitely expect to see them, and for it it to be one of my favorite sets of the weekend.
