Every band should just be Fugazi

 

As if there arent 14 million bolt thrower fans ready to snatch arena tickets when they go on their arena world tour. It would be chaos!

 

It's impossible to solve the ticket pricing complaints because there is really no benchmark for a "fair" and "reasonable" price. It's the lack of transparency that I think, rightfully so, has people up in arms. If you go into a sale expecting an $80 ticket and it's $250, that's understandably upsetting.

I know its the week of Thanksgiving and all that, but today feels kind of light/nonexistent on tour announcements.

 

typically this is a week of almost nothing getting announced

 

Bamboozle 1st wave should be announced any moment now…

 

As someone who’s planning on going to Adjacent (and couldn’t make it to Bamboozle regardless), I’m still pretty curious to see what the lineup is like

 

In more ways than one yeah

 

It is good to see the money go back into the bands pocket but I think the bigger issue is Ticketmaster inflating the prices so much and then taking their cut for nothing. And then it’s a win-win for them because they also get to take a cut of the SUPERRRR inflated resale ticket.

 

the bands are getting a cut of that too. Ticketmaster is just the scapegoat. It’s why none of this will ever change

awww bummer! i was supposed to see them on dec 3... hopefully he heals up quick and their new Utah date doesn't conflict with anything else going on.

Some interesting points made here and I genuinely DO think that having more than one major ticketing platform might help alleviate competition. However, the fact remains that concerts ultimately have limited supply so whether those are bought through one or five different ticketing platforms the ultimate number of tickets for sale will still remain the same. Legislation regarding resale is also possible (paperless, limited time window, etc) but I expect that to meet a lot of resistance due to the lobbyists and power the secondary platforms have. Ultimately, as always, the prices are set by artists so until they as well are willing to reduce their margins, ticket prices will stay as is.

 

i see john d’s reputation haunts him, that’s a pretty disappointing lineup compared to adjacent and what bamboozle used to be able to pull
