At his instore show in Minneapolis, Yungblud said next week he'll announce the a tour that will hit "one of the biggest venues" in the city. I assume that means he'll hit either the 8000-cap Armory, or the 3000-cap Myth Nightclub.

The Offspring are big enough to play arenas in Canada, even with Simple Plan as support?

I’m less surprised at them playing arenas in Canada and more surprised that Simple Plan is opening for them. I thought SP was much bigger than that in Canada

Didn't Coldplay not too long ago say something along the lines of not wanting to tour in general because of the environmental footprint or did I make that up?

They did but it's probably their biggest revenue stream at this point so tough to not do. I imagine they'll eventually be the type of act to do residencies.

  19. They said they wanted to be able to make their tours carbon-neutral. Not sure if they accomplished that fully through offsets (as fraught as that can be) or never got to that point, but they did make sustainability messaging a big part of show and powered the little acoustic stage with energy from people jumping in specific parts of the stadium floor, which was neat.

A date leaked for a Modest Mouse Lonesome Crowded West 25th anniversary tour. Dec 2nd in San Diego at the Observatory North Park. Ore-sale starts tomorrow so it should be announced any moment now

I'm seeing Jimmy Eat World on Thursday and it dawned on me, that the first time I saw them was TWENTY ONE years ago. I've seen them several times in between...but it got me thinking:

What is the longest amount of time between the first time you saw a band and the last time you saw the same band?

The next closest on my list would be:

Taking Back Sunday: 16 years (first time 2003 - last time 2019)
Bayside: 15 years (first time 2007 - last time 2022)
    Manchester Orchestra: 15 years (2007-2022)

Then a ton of others with at least 10 years of distance between first time and last time.

  25. Mine is The Junior Varsity at 16 years. First time was December 2006, last was July 2022, although they were broken up for most of that time. Not sure who the longest continually active band would be right now, but it will be Jimmy Eat World when I see them at Riot Fest in a couple weeks. I first saw them in 2007.
