I wish Paramore still did Parahoy - THAT'S a concert cruise I'd happily take the time off for.

    The chariot

or any other cancelled band that stayed cancelled (ie Daughters)

A lot of it was Chris from MiW. He pushed to get them off the bill.

The Chariot didn’t stick around long enough that’s what they did!

Wonder if CTE is getting booted off the Slipknot tour too

Yeah sorry. Those were two different points.

    1) the chariot is a band that isn’t around
    2) the other bands who aren’t around are cancelled and staying cancelled

Chris from motionless is very big on making sure MIW shows are a safe space so it makes total sense with the amount of people I saw in every Twitter thread of his asking for CTE to not be on the tour.

I don't see this decision carrying over to the Slipknot tour personally, but maybe INK being part of both will have some influence?

    Things have changed.

  12. The SZNZ shows were a cool idea. I wonder what production ideas they had that were driving those high expenses (or if that's just Broadway in general). They could do four night runs at smaller than normal venues in most major cities and it would probably do really well.

Im not even a big Academy Is fan but I have a feeling the vibe will be immaculate at that show.

Not to mention it would be worth it for Midtown alone.

    Things have changed.

Broadway in general. The tickets were outrageously expensive as a result of venue fees.

Art Alexakis is super liberal, so I would not include him in that "libertarian anti-vax/flat earth" line.

I googled the venue in Toronto and still have absolutely no idea where/what it is lol

  17. I GOT “SELECTED” FOR ADELE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. IT’S ADELE.

Just the Broadway union workers alone probably take up a good chunk of the budget.

This is copied from the Weezer thread:

This whole idea was flawed from the start:

    - Why would people buy a ticket for night 3 or night 4 given that neither of these EP's had been released
    - Tickets starting at $150-200 for this is ridiculous. I understand that the overhead for a Broadway theater (rental, union workers, etc) might be more than your typical show, seriously, this band has been to the city many times in the past 10 years so it's not like it was that rare of a get
    - Spreading the EP's out over 4 nights was also dumb. They're each only 20 min long. Do 2 EP's a night PLUS a fan favorite/greatest hits set.
    - Incentivize people to go multiple nights by offering discounts. To the above point. Maybe a ticket for 1 night is $125 + fees but one for two nights can be $175 + fees

Net/net I don't think it was greed so much as they may have invested heavily in a production and not realized the costs of putting on stuff on Broadway but, damn, a band that just co-headlined a stadium can't even fill an 800-seat theater in the biggest market in the world.

my wife and I said it too, look I love weezer but they have as many misses as hits and playing four different setlists is asking a lot of anyone but your die hards

Calling it a "tinfoil hat post" is a little extreme, especially considering I said it was a "vibe" that I got.

But thanks for the info. Legitimately happy to have my hunch proven wrong.

I knew he was pretty liberal, but those two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. Either way. My thoughts/hunch were wrong.

I'm shocked reading this. Thankfully I chose to fly out to see Sugar Ray elsewhere last month instead of flying out for this show.

must be something new or *really* tiny bc I've never heard of this one either
