It’s a perfect day for letting go... Supporter

I did two in one week and now two this week. With a kid now, it feels like I went to 16 in a row

It's less the standing and more the idea of going anywhere after work other than straight to my couch for 5 days lol

Used to do 3-4 shows a week at times, more than 2 just drains me due to all of life's other responsibilities which is tough given that in NYC there are usually like 5 shows a week I would be interested in.

    Regular

I rotated between work and shows this past week.

Monday: Jimmy Eat World in Raleigh
Tuesday: 12 hr night shift (I live in Wilmington)
Wednesday: Tyler, The Creator in Charlotte
    Thursday: 12 hr night shift
Friday: Tame Impala in Hampton, VA
    Saturday: 12 hr night shift
    Sunday: 12 hr night shift

    I’m still tired.

  7. This is part of why I didn't whine about it when my wife wanted to move east into Suffolk hahah.
Can't FOMO as hard if I'm physically incapable of going to every show.

Haha this is kinda the same logic I had when I moved into Manhattan and sold my car. I can't have FOMO for all the Jones Beach & PNC shows if I have no (convenient) way of getting there.

Not sure it's convenient persay but the trains -> buses for both PNC/Jones Beach aren't that bad.

Ok so fun stats about the MGK tour

according to Spotify, though MGK is clearly the headliner, everyone on the bill has 19m monthly listeners except for Travis barker (10m) and Pvris (2m). Blackbear actually has the most MLs of everyone on the bill with 23m.

All that to say, MGK def couldn’t do arenas on his own, despite the popularity. Do with this what you will. As we know, I’m just so interested in the stats compared to the rooms these people play.

  13. I just wish there were some easier way to interpret MLs, but right now if you don't know the bands/scene, you have no real way of knowing what the number indicates about the fanbase/draw.

If there's one thing I missed about this thread, it's the overwhelming positivity.

I'm a totally nerd when it comes to stats like that too lol.
Although I think even without the strong support MGK could've done arenas, at least in the major markets. On his last tour, in NYC he did 1 night at Central Park (5,000 people) and a second night at Pier 17 (3,500 people). Both shows sold out within minutes of going on sale. So if he could quickly sell 8,500 tickets on his own, I'm sure the 15k MSG wasn't such a stretch. If anything I think with the strong support from Avril and Ian Dior, he'll be able to add a second night.

But glad we're the same kind of weird that spends time over analyzing monthly listener numbers and venue sizes haha ;-p

I guess I'm too spoiled having everything relatively close.
Even Barclays Center seems to far away for me now. Last week after Tame Impala I was huffing and puffing about the 45 minute commute home lol

Though I hate to admit it, this MGK tour is probably a slam dunk ticket-sales wise. Most arenas, like MSG, start at 10k tickets and then you can potentially adjust the stage to open more seats.

I did a 9 band show Friday. A 15 band show Sat, then followed it by catching another bands set at another venue. Went to a show last night and have one planned for tonight and tomorrow weather permitting.

MGK playing the Browns stadium is still crazy to me.

We've never had another Cleveland artist headline there (In my lifetime).

MGK/ Travis Barker (I think has his own set?)/ Avril Lavigne/ Trippie Redd/ Willow/ 44phantom for Cleveland. Wish PVRIS & blackbear were on ours. Surprised blackbear isn't.

I love that I got Iann Dior and Blackbear but I think it would be awesome to have all the supporting artist on every date and make it into a festival

Yeah, I’m 35 so I’ve got some years on ya. Lol. I don’t know if I ever recall him playing there or not. I was just spitballing. I can’t believe he holds the Blossom attendance record.

Talked to my mom. He played the World Series of Rock at Cleveland Stadium but didn't headline. Yeah, 4 sold out Blossom shows?

As much as I dislike MGK, he put together a great lineup
