Im at the Knocked Loose's sold out show at the Metro. The venue is vax only, but I feel kind of scared of being in a packed indoor show again, as all my previous shows this year have been outdoors.

Today I told my co-workers that I was going to two shows next week and they all looked at me like I was out of my mind. Like the “well we need to avoid him” kind of look.

I saw that play out in real time at The Killers show at Terminal 5 a few weeks back. Delayed the band coming on stage by 40 min. I guess if we somehow can get the infastructure in place to do this kind of testing it could work.

Pinkshift’s dropping the rest of Sad Summer after a crew member came up sick. Fully vaccinated crew, just playing on the side of caution.

Sad for them after only being able to hop on about a week ago. That tour’s had a rough go of it.

Saw this in the fb dashboard group
I got an email about a show in MI that was canceled. Appears the entire tour is a no-go. Statement from Chris Carrabba: "It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel the upcoming Dashboard Confessional Unplugged tour. We feel this is the best decision for our band, crew and fans during this time. With that being said, we support any artists who make the choice to go out on the road. We intend to play at Music Midtown and our show in Nashville at the Ryman in November. Performing and seeing our fans is a source of constant joy for us and we cannot wait to be back at it again. In the meantime, I will focus on recovering from outstanding complications from my accident last year and plan to get back on the road as soon as possible."

Yeah, this is what came up in the Chicago event:

Please note, this show has been canceled. Refunds will be automatically processed.

That’s a bummer for This Wild Life. One of the bigger tours they have been on in a long time.

    Things have changed.

The Killers canceled most of their fall dates. Everything after Firefly.

  16. Effffff was looking forward to finally seeing them. But can't blame em for this decision obv.

Seems like the worst case scenario has just been happening for tours across the board. We thought breakthrough cases were rare but, like, half the tours on this page alone discussed have had some sort of issue. I'll keep going to shows if they happen but I'm definitely concerned about the fall/winter.

The longer it takes for people to get vaccinated, the more time that the virus has to infect unvaxxed people, mutate, and then spread to vaxxed people. That's why vaccine efficacy has been decreasing, because the virus keeps mutating.

Harry Styles’ tour starts tomorrow. I feel like his is one of the first big scale, indoor only tours to be put on. Should be interesting to see how that pans out.

This discussion is why I am so mad that (as of now) Rhythm and Roots is still happening in Bristol. COVID cases are skyrocketing there, and I know the logistics in working out things with both Tennessee AND Virginia are rough because of differing leadership styles in the states, but I don't understand why they haven't taken a pledge to make sure festivalgoers AND bands AND crew members are safe.

Even though it's outside, I'm masking up, but as of today, five acts (two headliners, technically) have cancelled their appearances there, one act refuses to play at shows where there's a vax/test mandate (and they're definitely still playing the fest) and they've found replacements. I think it's pretty telling that they've turned off Instagram comments on their post about how it's next week.

Edited to add that I was in Bristol LAST WEEK and masked up EVERYWHERE because the current 7-day positivity rate in the region their health system covers is at 20% and only 39.7% of the region is fully vaccinated.

Strange that Dinosaur Jr. cancels the first leg of their tour, yet Lou Barlow is trying to attempt a solo tour during that timeframe?…
