I'm going to a drive in rave next Saturday. So I'll report back if it's fun or not.

Rescheduled Goo Goo Dolls tour for next year, Lifehouse dropped off the bill

I've been wondering what kind of artist I'd be willing to attend a drive-in concert for? Turns out, Andrew McMahon is the answer.

I saw they were looking for local openers but it's pay to play with $40 presales. Especially without Trapt this show is not going to do good.

 

Even with the postponed dates, StubHub isn't offering refunds. Instead, they're just asking people to re-sell the tickets. I'd feel more comfortable just holding onto the tickets...If I actually HAD them. I'm still waiting on the previous seller to get them to me. Even if I was to re-sell them, I'd be taking a $700 loss as all the tickets being sold now are dirt cheap compared to what I paid. Does anyone have any advice for me or am I fffffffffffffffff'd?

 

If anyone in the LA/OC area want to make a hour and a half trek north for this...

Live Nation Wants Artists to Take Pay Cuts and Cancelation Burdens for Shows in 2021

 

Fuck them.

 

An artist's guarantee is reflective of their expected draw on an event. Promoters can't pay artists as much if fewer tickets are gonna be sold. Also, concerts are more likely to be cancelled due to potential COVID outbreaks, artists getting sick, city regulations, etc. so the risk needs to be shared. Why is this so surprising?

The only thing I disagree with is the artist owing LN twice the guarantee amount if the artist cancels. I think, upon artist cancellation, the artist should eat their own expenses and split LN's out-of-pocket expenses. As for merch, 70/30 split is not unheard of for festivals.

 

Live Nation is starting to roll-out Live at the Drive-In shows (not the band). My local shed has three shows back to back July 10-12: Yacht Rock Revue, John Pardi, and Brad Paisley.
