honestly don’t think i’ll personally be okay going to shows until, at the earliest, halloween time. just seems way too soon otherwise. hoping RATM postpones until next year so i don’t have to sell my ticket.

Yeah not a terrible idea to maybe let a month go by once the floodgates are lifted just to see how cases rise and see if the virus is going to quickly spread again.

Farfecthed but an opinion from someone who is going to partly responsible for deciding when these things can happen again. I will say this, the more likely scenario at this point is there will be no large social gatherings of any kind til some sort of vaccine is produced and readily available to the public.

While I wouldn't be insanely surprised if that happened, it feels like a better way to phrase it would be "Fall 2021 is the next time you might be able to go to a concert with little or no restrictions placed on it."

I'm not sure that would really help or make a difference, everyone winds up in the same room as each other and in most smaller to mid sized venues the bands gonna be close enough to the crowds to be in risk of contamination anyways

I noticed this while looking at their policy last week. They’re trying to push you to re-sell your tickets (which makes them even more money) if you can’t make a rescheduled show.

I’ll see what happens when I try to get a refund on my NFG Boston tickets. I’m 95% sure I’m not flying up there any more and I’m definitely not going if it gets rescheduled.

Ticketmaster who we already know are bad guys find a way to sink even lower and be more scummy. Complete A**holes. Realizing that some people will find concerts and sporting events unsafe or won’t be able to attend the rescheduled date make sure they still get their money!

I expect more backlash/another class action lawsuit.

How can they keep people's money when the date of the original show is passing by and they haven't even announced a rescheduled date?

Pretty sure in the terms of agreement when you buy the ticket, there's no protection for TM on the no refund thing if the show doesn't happen on the scheduled date... whether it got postponed or not.

I know for a fact that I got refunded for tickets before from Ticketmaster on a postponed show. I had no choice. In fact, 2 shows I had tickets to, were both postponed and happened to both get rescheduled for the same night.

When I buy tickets to a show, I buy them because I know I have no prior commitments preventing me from attending the show. Obviously things come up sometimes (I get sick, something comes up last minute, another show I want to go to more is scheduled for the same day, etc.) but if I’m buying tickets to a show and that show doesn’t happen on the day it is supposed to, a refund should always be an option, because it’s not my fault I can’t attend (whereas in the other scenarios I mentioned, it is my fault).

Is it just me, or is that really not a big deal? Maybe I was just assuming that, as long as the event still happens, you'll get to see the show, so Ticketmaster wouldn't really owe buyers anything unless the show doesn't happen?

Meh. Just because I’m free x date doesn’t mean I’m also free y date.

what people have a problem with, is in the past if it got postponed you had an option to get a refund cause maybe you couldn’t make it because of a conflict or a trip etc. now add that people may be uncomfortable going to shows that happen first because maybe there isn’t a vaccine. Ticketmaster’s previous policy has now been changed to only benefit them. Also if a show gets postponed to a TBA date they have your money til whenever it happens. Let’s say Rammstein for example postponed their whole tour but they don’t come for 2 or 3 years. Then Ticketmaster has your money for several years and that just doesn’t sit well with some. It’s just one of those things where a notoriously dirty company again does something dirty and at a time where people are promoting helping each other, be good to each other. There is a company doing things that only protect themselves.

It's extremely shady business practices, even for a company that's notorious for shady business practices. I'm not a lawyer, but you can't change the terms of an agreement AFTER the agreement. At the time of purchase, the tickets we all bought, would have been refundable had the shows been postponed for whatever reason. Now that there's a pandemic and all shows have been postponed, they can't change the terms retroactively.

Luckily I think I only have a pair of tickets through Ticketmaster. Everything else was smaller brokers that have all already refunded me.

I do have a pair of Groupon tickets to a Live Nation show though. Wonder what will happen with those.
