Feign is so good

 

Wow. I know recency bias and all that but like, god damn. This is their best and it’s not even close imo. Absolutely fucking massive. After reading that bit about how the drums were recorded, it sounds so obvious. Really full band, live energy there

 

Yeah this is their best sounding record by far

 

The use of modulation is so effective throughout. I dunno what’s going on at the end of Exit Row with those guitars but the way it feels crushing and enveloping all at once makes me wanna run through a wall lol

Also I love Reminders but yeah it did feel a little out of place on first listen. I’ll get used to it I’m sure

 

I’m on Limelight now (the only pre-release track I listened to aside from Deflector) and I love how prominent the bass is in the mix, loving this so far. Reminders is catchy as hell.

 

A Broadcast is gorgeous, I wasn’t expecting a song like this at all

 

Digging this a lot on first listen (on A Broadcast). Reminders caught me off guard, but I'm sure it'll grow on me with future listens. Didn't realize MO was on this until I saw the feature in the title when I went to check the title of the song, so I was sitting in anticipation ready to hear Andy come in. Super cool moment.

 

Haven’t listened to anything of theirs in a while but definitely checking this out if not only for the fact that this cover art is amazing, Nick is such a good designer

 

I love so many of the lyrics on this, I know that's not anything new with them but like damn

 

also I definitely broke down and got this after listening through the lyrics more

 

Really glad I didn’t overplay Limelight, what a song. Bass is sounding thicc on this so far. It’s early and I’m still half asleep, but the title track was really cool, a lot of post rock vibes in that one.

 

Wow. Knocked it out of the park with this one. Three songs in and I had to order the vinyl

 

gonna run through the discog in a bit.

 

I'm a very casual fan (probably only listened to all their albums through once), but this is immediately my favorite. I'll be spinning this a lot.

 

Reminders into Limelight is a fantastic transition.

 

Great record. Still TA but they took a lot of risks on this and it pays off. "Reminders" is awesome.

 

"‘Round Here’ is an almost perfect song (ALMOST)" made me lol.

 

Ok the closer has grown on me.

 

Feign is ridiculously good. Have always loved this band on a random track basis. Finally listening to one start to finish.

 

"A Forecast" hit me like a ton of bricks.

This part is too relevant for me

I got really strong Small Brown Bike vibes from 'I'll be your Host'

 

Given all the articles I read I was ready for Come Heroine to be epic. Wasn’t disappointed.
