I have a good friend who lives in Austin and she's not doing well right now. from everything she told me, it sounds like an absolute shitshow. hope you and your family stay safe and well

 

Yesterday everything was perfect. Power went out about 12:30 am and I woke up at like 4:30 in a panic trying to figure out what we needed to do. After lunch once I realized we weren’t going to get power back until at least tomorrow I called my in-laws. We just made it here after an absolutely terrifying drive but we are safe. I’m grateful I had this option and realize I’m better off than literally thousands of people but this whole shit is ridiculous. Hope your friend’s situation starts looking up.

 

Thoughts to you and your family Colby!! Being from a place where it rarely if ever snows, I can’t imagine how I’d handle the situation y’all are in.

That’s what is crazy it rarely if ever snows in Houston, normally just gets below freezing for like a day or so, we stay inside and move on when we all thaw out again. This is like an unprecedented thing going on, seems a lot like Hurricane Harvey but much much colder and thankfully back then I had full water and power the whole time.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I had been without power all day so didn’t hear much but now I’m seeing a growing number of hospitalizations for Carbon Monoxide poison and its super tragic to see
