Had a guy on hinge get hostile because I stated I didn’t want to date a smoker (low and behold he’s a smoker), and proceeded to say that I’m going to stay alone because I think smokers are “below me”… no where did I say that, nor do I think that. One of the many reasons why I keep saying the dudes in my area are poor choices, and why I hate online dating. This was the “first message” where you can add a comment to a potential match. Before I realized I can report his comment/message (which I did bc gtfo online dating if you get that upset over something they doesn’t effect you), I responded telling him he’s an effed up person if he’s going to go around getting upset and bothered over something so little on another persons profile, that doesn’t effect him in anyway. And i can see why he’s single. Not sure if he read it. This dude screams “red flag” and prob gaslights women, and is verbally and mentally abusive. So many bad vibes from one message. So that was the start to my morning. Happy daylight savings. Rant over.

 

People that will joke around on you but can't take a joke themselves

 

The elevator in my building broke immediately after I got out of it. I suddenly heard a cracking sound, almost like someone was snapping a ceiling tile over their leg, and then a loud crash. I couldn't tell if something fell from the ceiling inside the elevator since the doors won't open, or if something fell on top of the elevator from the shaft itself. Scary.

Also annoyed I had to cancel a large $200 curbside grocery order as a result because there are a ton of stairs in my building. Going to have to do a light shop instead. And now I have to wait 3-5 business days for my refund.

Yeah for real. Fuck this apartment. The elevator breaks all the time and maintenance just resets it. I had to have the fire department get me out when I was moving my furniture into my apartment. It somehow passes inspection every year, though. Thankful this happened only on the first floor

 

My apartment complex got new owners the other week and while it seems like they do things more in line with what I would expect in 2023 vs the previous owners, there seems to be a lot more red tape and delays with requests once you look past the bells and whistles.

Old owner - crappy app you could pay rent through and you had to call or email to request maintenance and there was like no confirmation email or anything, but the work got done within 24 hours.

New owner - flashy new app, maintenance requests through the app, add pictures/details, select times that work for maintenance to come to your apartment, BUT I sent in a request 8 days ago for an issue with my dryer and while I got a confirmation email that my request was submitted I have not heard a damn thing - no email, no call, no messages in the app. So, cool, you have this fancy new system but don’t seem to do anything with it. Sounds like where I work too lol

It plays at work at least 5 times a day, and no matter what I’m doing that fucking pre-chorus will pierce through anything. I could even be outside, in my car, with headphones on, and I’ll still hear it coming out of the windows from work. Loudest thing in the world. I hate it!

 

Dude, Sia has a Christmas song about puppies that played so much when I worked retail. I hated it.

I remember living in an apt like that similar. The complex got new owners/management (new name too) and the old mgmt you can put in a work order on the website and maintenance got it done quick. New mgmt you had to go in the office for a request and they were only open certain hours, hours that where I had classes. And they never answered their phone. They also never notified me of a package. The new staff was awful too. Things went downhill. But that was many a year ago for me. Sorry you have to deal with all that

I really enjoy jigsaw puzzles, but having to demolish them after spending so much time putting them together is mad Sisyphus vibes

 

I work with this girl who is only there once a week. She is SO slow doing certain things, it puts us behind. Being there once a week doesn’t help her, but she’s been there long enough that certain tasks should not take nearly as long as she’s taking. Also she gets super stressed and overwhelmed very easily and it’s very detectable in her body language/reaction. She can’t work independently. I’m constantly having to do things for her when I’m busy as fk and don’t have time to help. Also she doesn’t pay attention or listen. She has trouble following simple instructions. I would show her something and it’s like she doesn’t understand what I’m telling her. The other day I was showing her how to do something and told her to come around the other side for a better angle but she basically refused. Not only were we busy and down a person but having her there wasn’t very helpful so it felt like we were working two people down. And back to the stressed part, it’s like she gets upset when she has to work- like do our actual duties. I know I need to make my manager aware bc she really puts us behind when I have to stop what I’m doing to help her on a task she should already know how to do. Oh and she doesn’t take my advice on things I feel like I would be helpful to her
