Having to work on President's Day (apparently)

 

The business next door to my work is playing music really loud like an annoying next door neighbor does

 

what??? Why is that. That’s total bullshit.

 

Had to come onsite today during a snowstorm for a meeting that was fucking cancelled and is always cancelled but noooooooo we HAD to come in. And then they wanna turn lunch into a “working meeting lunch” and these fucks think it’s worth it if they buy us some shitty sandwiches. No, not staying for that. Gotta tell me more than an hour in advance, I already had plans over lunch to not do whatever it is you want us to pow wow about.

So I’ve been on my office all day with the door closed and honest to god have had 10-15 people just randomly open the door to see if I was here or see if I had something on a product shelf. What the fuck is everyone new here and never seen a closed door before?

My blood pressure spikes so fucking much when I’m here lol

 

This shit. The company I work for has tons of corporate workers who went fully remote during the pandemic. Now they’re freaking out cause people moved all over the country without telling them/updating their address. Not sure about others, but we’re a healthcare company and they aren’t allowed/don’t want employees working in states where they don’t have buildings. Probably a legal thing but idk

 

I low key got in trouble for allegedly saying something. We occasionally get interns and one of them said “reported” something I apparently said. What they allegedly said I said, I didn’t say in the words that were described. There’s only two people it could have been and I’m not sure who I think it is. It could go either way. But man, are you a child and go and tattle. After all the help I offered you. Smh. Part of me thinks they’re jealous and just want to get the fired so they can have a job since both of these people don’t have jobs yet out of their class. Several years ago I had a co worker that made shit up to get me fired because she wanted my lead position. Kept telling me I had no reason to keep working there and I’m wasting gas. And I know this because the owner/boss told me.

 

I hate splitting tips with my coworkers. My charisma got the money, not you!

 

Update: I just learned the building’s top floor has a vending machine and it has pretzels :D

 

In certain states it can be a huge tax liability, California for example.

 

Nothing like spending who knows how long trying to not have a panic attack lol

It’s weird cause I’m kind of a yoga hater, but any time I get too stoned I do some basic stretches and I’m good. Sometimes that just means downward dog for like 30 minutes lmao. Putting on a podcast or some music helps, often something Slowdive

My extremely right-wing brother who has always hated Harry Potter and made fun of me for liking it as a kid is suddenly in love with it and is buying the game. After talking to him it definitely reinforced I made the right call in never supporting JK Rowling ever again. Whole thing is infuriating.

 

I brought up the fact that this is happening (conservatives buying the game for the sole purpose of supporting her) in that thread and it was pretty much brushed aside immediately. If you don't think the gaming community has a right-wing problem, I don't know what gaming communities you've been hanging out in for the past 15 years lol

 

Yeah they said it was related to taxes/pay structure. My manager, director, and department VP all approved the move and advocated for me but HR wouldn’t budge. Frustrating but at least I’ve got a few months to look for something new that hopefully pays a bit better.

 

When people come to you for help but then refuse any effort you make to help them

when you put a ton of time and energy into writing, producing, mixing an album for a buddy (for free) and then he doesn't promote it for longer than a week, and then he comes back to you about doing a follow up...

 

Finally got a hold of my realtor this morning. She told the sellers I need an answer tonight bc this is ridiculous. They said they would call and let her know. So of course they are ignoring everyone’s calls and refuse to call back. So another day of waiting. I really do not like these people!! It is so inconsiderate to make me wait like this. You are either selling or not. Make up your mind!! Another house came up on the market today and I would be interested if I lose this one but I can’t even make an offer until they give me an answer. It’s so frustrating!
