I had someone that tried to do that to me. And I didn’t even know them!

 

I never in my life thought I'd be saying this, but I kinda miss communal washer dryers. But my alternative is to use the laundromat downtown or visit my mom whose boyfriend is always coming up with excuses for us not to come by. We do laundry more at my fiance's parents an hour away than my mom who lives 10 minutes away

I had to talk to my best friend last night about everything and he gave me very pragmatic advice. either cut ties permanently and it will get worse before it gets better or remain in contact and it will get better before it inevitably gets worse. this is someone who claims to be in love with me but you don't try to do the things she is (in this case leave overtly negative reviews for every book I've written) if you really love someone. I've had so many panic attacks thinking about it and what else this person might do to get to me that I'm just fucking numb. the kind of people who will try to ruin your life because their feelings aren't reciprocated by you has always been there, they just have vastly more tools to do so now. I can't even imagine being so petty and spiteful. this was a fan of my work who I let get way too close to me and now i'm paying the ultimate price for letting them in at all.

 

on that note: I'm taking a step back online for a bit. just need some time to really think about how I let myself get here
