This is so tricky with the beauty tiktok realm too. At first I'd wanna buy everything they said was worth it, but now I try to be more discerning and see if they have a similar skin type/complexion/skin concerns as me before making a judgement. I also noticed I'll see something go viral and all the influencers say to buy it, but by the next month they never use it or mention it again prob just cause of the huge volume of products they try. If I see something consistently used by a tiktoker in their videos I'm more likely to buy it as I feel like it actually stands out and isn't just lost in the fads. Takes more time but has helped curb my impulse spending

 

I’m really bad at impulse spending. I try to do better. Especially when I buy something but don’t entirely like it, but I don’t want to be wasteful so I will use it some of the time.

 

Yeah I have a problem with it too. I've reigned it in somewhat but I go through waves with it. Every time I move and have to pack all my junk I swear I'll never buy stuff again, but I don't stick to it lol. The initial mood boost I get from buying something is ridic. I try to stick to buying things only if it's an occasion or there are good sales. But the fear of missing out is real, and using the beauty example I think ppl rly exploit that desire to find the "miracle" product. I'm less critical of tiktok content than others I think, but one aspect I am very critical of is the rampant consumerism it fosters and encourages, and that I fall for all the time.

Rant/vent time
There’s this girl I work with who’s somewhat new. A lot of the time she tries to have me do something she’s asked to do because “I’m better at it”. It’s really irritating because I want her to learn and get comfortable. Also I don’t want to feel like I’m doing all the work. I usually feel like I’m doing most of the work. I remind her that she should do the task. Especially while it’s slower. I never had that opportunity and if there was something new for me to learn, it was busy and everyone was “too busy” to help me and told me I need to figure it out on my own. It was very stressful and if I can avoid having someone in that situation, I will. Which is what I’m doing. I usually ask her what reason she can’t do it. I also try to help her with her skills and say “you should do this to practice...” but she’s not interested. Not only that she dips out of work so fast (along with another person who does the same) to avoid doing something, therefore I’m forced to stay late when I can’t to do the task she’s avoiding. The other week we got done early with patients and I told her what we needed to do before we leave. I got left doing shit because she said she had to leave (when her hours weren’t up yet). She just didn’t want to do the task. There are many times I ask her to do something and she won’t do it. As in she asked a question about something so I told her what she needed to set up, and she didn’t even set up! She went on break instead and then I had to spend extra time setting up! I confronted her about it. I told her don’t just put the stuff in the room, you need to finish the set up. I informed her this because I’ve got talked to by the lead about this before when I didn’t complete a set up. I have so much other bs I want to rant about.

 

I didn’t get a chance to complain to the leasing office as half the trash was picked up and I wanted to wait for maintenance to do their job, but I think the guy upstairs picked the rest of his garage up. My cat was meowing like he does when there’s people or another kitty around. And the trash is now gone. I don’t mind him picking up his trash and appreciate it.

A funny thing I saw is someone putting a sign in the carport next to me (the previous people moved) saying not to park there because they pay for it and they “work hard”. Not sure what that has to do with anything and you don’t pay “extra” for an assigned space. Like if you want an assigned spot it you have to pay kinda thing. A reserved space comes with renting here. You only get 1. Plus I’ve only seen one person park there. Person has two fancy ass cars. But haven’t seen anyone else. So idk what they’re talking about. I mean if someone is parking in their spot. Call a tow. I would

 

We have assigned underground parking spots at my apartment complex and every once awhile I’ll see the maintenance guy randomly park in someone’s spot and all I can think is, “what if those people come home right now?” like… there’s no way to know it’s the maintenance guy unless your happen to have seen him one day like I did when he parked in the spot next to mine. I would have been pissed to then have to park outside and not know if it was just some asshole or what (if I didn’t know it was maintenance).

Not sure if he does it when he thinks he’s just gonna be there a few minutes but a few times it’s been hours. Kind of surprised it hasn’t bitten him in the ass yet.

 

I’ve seen workers park in other peoples spots. I would be upset if that was me. But at the same time I wonder if they can ask the office for workers to not park there?

 

this last winter i dug my car out of a foot of snow to have my spot taken by a cop so he could camp out w his radar gun. top 10 angry moment of my life tbh
