Man, this album just totally bored me. Spin didn't do anything for me either.

The opener and Cat's Cradle are good, plus a few earworms here and there, but overall this whole thing sorta glossed over me.

first listen through and it feels like watered down spin 2.0. just really one note. really hope this grows on me

man this record has a completely different energy from spin, I don't get the "spin 2.0" comments at all

Definitely second the “watered down Spin” feel. As a huge TJ fan this just doesn’t do it for me and leaves me disappointed. Hope it grows but I don’t really even want to return to it.

Yeah I think this is a significant step down from Spin. A few solid tracks but really, really flat overall.

Yeah, something's missing here. Intensity? Heart? Emotion? I dunno. I wasn't super into Spin either.

Lemon Mouth and Commit are pretty good.

i get the criticism of this feeling a bit hollow or watered down, but for me, it's really solid all the way through. nothing amazing, but right now i really enjoy it.

The only post-Charmer release I've been wowed by is the Studio 4 Acoustic Session. I was really hoping for this album to swiftly change my mind, so my first listen was a serious bummer (i skipped the singles to listen to them in context). I don't see myself returning soon TBH... I really wanted them to stretch their sound with this one, like they did with each of their first three records, but it seems like they're honing in what's safe for them. Fine and all if that's for you, but maybe I've outgrown them.

Outside of Anniversary this really didn’t do anything for me. Bummer.

Honestly shocked at some of the comments on here. Don't see the Spin 2.0 thing and there are plenty of memorable songs on here. I hope it turns around for you all, but so far I think these all hit the ear so nicely:

I Won't Care how you Remember Me
    Hesitation
    Cat's Cradle
    Anniversary
    Body Language

Never Wanted To reminds me of Title Fight in a sweet way; they always play the band's Safe In Your Skin at acoustic shows, so it's a treat to see the slight influence

I think you guys are nuts. This is their best album by a hop, skip, and jump for me. Every song is a winner, but “Anniversary” is the big knockout. Love “Commit”, too. And the guitar solo on “New Detroit” is absolutely perfect. Memorable, amazing tone, but restrained and concise.

I have a lot of emotional attachment to Charmer and Spin, so it'll be hard to dethrone those, but this album is getting better with each listen. I wasn't too impressed with it at first but now I'm starting to really enjoy it
