Rupture and Tomorrow I'll Be You were really, really great. As was the others you mentioned and pretty much the rest. But I get the feeling they never played those a ton after WATT cycle ended.

all and all i think im glad i went yesterday but am jealous of dark mountain and insanely jealous of on this side of brightness. after WATT that would've been atop the wishlist.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

100% the right choice, even if just for The Hotelier and disregarding setlists...our openers were fairly bad. Sick Feeling had terrible stage presence, and Nothing's distorted guitar squeals were enough to send us out of the venue. Wayyy too loud.

Hate to say it but I have to echo about the openers. Musically Sick Feeling was cool, but it felt like everyone in the room found the vocalist really obnoxious.

  9. No "See you in 2017" announcements or anything like that?

Absolutely nothing, which honestly leaves me a bit disappointed because I think everyone was expecting more clarity. The only thing I've heard is the rumor that they continue the holiday show tradition.

But on second thought, maybe they need to reflect on how these two homeshows went before deciding what to do. Can't blame them if they need to refocus.

Both of the setlists are incredible looking at them, this is an unexpected feeling considering night two has more songs I would've wanted just based off my album preferences, but night one has that feel too + that shiny Hotelier luster. If they make this annual I definitely wanna plan a trip next time

They made it clear at our show that they are coming back and I have a feeling they will be active next year

Only thing Geoff mentioned on night one was that he'd like to bring back their holiday show tradition.

Cool possibility: they're quiet for the year on any plans, maybe a few more shows before they rest. Come holiday time they play and oh what do you know, what song was that? A new one, perhaps?? New album on the way?? NICE

Also important to remember they probably have full time jobs, careers, health insurance, families etc so not easy just to pack all that in to re-live the dream:concerned:

I think all their families were to left of the stage last night, it was heartwarming.

or they play a new song, do that for a few years, then finally put out in an EP in 2019 or something

Last night was just so damn good. Wish I had made it for both nights. We wisely skipped the openers and I think we had the slightly better set list. Geoff seemed so incredibly happy and it was great to talk to him.

Cool interview, especially the part about not wanting to play in UN. Seeing Geoff talk about the meanings and dedications of the songs the other night made Thursday really feel like a movement in itself. Closing with war all the time, the merch, everything about it was surreal. God I love this band.

"I think in that respect more than ever, I am excited to be in Thursday because Thursday is about compassion—it’s about caring, it’s about sincerity, and the truth, and honesty. And I think right now more than ever, that’s what we need. We need that honesty, and that compassion, or sincerity. So, I am really excited about the idea that Thursday can be this positive, beautiful thing that talks to people, and that people need. Art is something that we need, again."

    This. This. Absolutely this.

That was a great read, his reasoning on UN is interesting to see. It's looking like no matter what he's got on the table, UN is never going to be his main thing bc of how nebulous it is and how rooted in the current culture it is to him
