I just listened to see if I can get it either and nope. Love the drums on No Devolutión though, Magnets Caught in a Metal Heart was always one of my fav drum parts.

They’re changing their name to Friday

  3. not the most helpful because you don't have a clear view of tuckers kit but this was best I could find for help with that. I'm a pretty primitive drummer at best tho lol so what do I know

Ha, I also spent hours trying to learn it by ear years back and couldn't figure it out, either. This newer live video should help:

I remember seeing a drum cam video a few years back where Tucker was playing the beat to No Answers, but I can't find it anymore. There's a free app called Moises that allows you to manipulate aspects of sounds so you can drop out vocals and guitars to isolate the drums in order to get a sense of how to play it. The free version app isn't great quality, but you can get the point still

oh my god i don't mind them doing whatever they want but just stop being coy about it. Say you are releasing a live album. Would honestly have preferred it be a live studio recording like Signals than a show recording but I'll see what the price is on it next week and decide from there.

I am so tired of the false hope.

They’ve been pretty clear for years now that they have been more interested in playing shows than writing/recording/releasing new music so I don’t know why anyone is surprised

Really? I can think of 4.

This band can do whatever they want. I’m just thankful they are an active part of my life again. I never saw them prior to their hiatus because I didn’t get into them until the fall of 2010 and missed out on the couple opportunities I had to see them in 2011 before they hung it up.

I’m happy that they’re happy to be back considering that all indications prior to 2016 were that they weren’t going to get back together. They did stuff in 2016 and 2017 with the full lineup (if I’m recalling correctly) and some of the members have families. Seems weird to do a new album featuring the six of them just to tour without half of them.

If they want to re-ride the wave of FC and WATT for a few years, that’s fine by me. Those albums are fucking awesome and I can make up for all the years I never listened to them and the year I missed it when I did start listening to them. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I’ve felt every time I’ve gotten to see them since 2016 and to have seen them due the Signals livestreams when they really didn’t have to.

    Let kings be kings.

there was an interview like a year or so ago where geoff was talking about how they were talking about the possibilities of new music right before the pandemic but that drastically changed their living situations in a way that has largely put a halt on those plans, so i wouldnt expect new music for a bit

Yeah I like the album and I recognize how influential it is, but it's far from their best. I want to give their other albums the appreciation they deserve!

I wish it was for WATT because I like it better and they hardly play deep cuts from it anymore.

Maybe they recorded WATT as well since they were playing that album in its entirety on the same tour as FC. Tucker said in a recent interview that they have something planned for WATT in 2023

Full Collapse is still my second favorite album of theirs but I have the St. Vitus edition vinyl of that signed by them, I desperately want ACBTLD vinyl as much as I know that seemingly can't really happen
