I've always been surprised how seemingly overlooked it is. Only "The Weight" ranks higher for me on Beggars.

Burn The Fleet reminds me of Face To Face song Ignorance Is Bliss. There a good song, and something a little different on Fire EP.

So many different people have different favourite songs. Thrice...not a one hit wonder band.

TBEITBN has 8 favourite songs to me, and rest are good to ok or need to be further explored. Been my favourite album this year. Every time I hear the intro to Black Honey I get chills.

Part of me thinks that after that Grammy article/the Black Honey popularity they might get nominated for Best New Artist and let's just say I need that laugh in my life.

I'm listening to it now to try and see if I can get it...I don't haha. There's nothing about this that seems super weird for a thrice fan. It honestly almost sounds like it would fit on tbeitbn

Okay, typed thoughts as I went:

    1) I can still sing the entire thing so I'm not sure what that means in indication for how much I actually dislike it.
    2) Maybe it's the way he sings the actual phrase "burn the fleet" and the emphasis on "fleet"?
    3) Musically, I love the tones. But the tone on fire is top notch start to finish.
4.) Actually, the longer the song goes, I just find his vocal delivery flat start to finish, not just on the phrase. Like, there's no emotion present in the song for me... unlike all other songs on Fire.

Circles and In Exile are my favorites too! Alongside the title track, of course. All The World Is Mad and At The Last come up next, and then the rest.

What I like about Burn The Fleet is that it's a little more moody compared to the rest of the EP. Firebreather and The Messenger offer up a heavy one-two punch, then Backdraft come in with a very eerie, unsettling, feeling in a good way. Then you've got The Arsonist, which is one of their heaviest songs to date.

So, to me, Burn The Fleet is like a breather, with its more reserved verses and such a melodic bridge with that sweet lead guitar. Plus, Riley slays on that track, particularly just before the second chorus (though technically third if we're counting the intro without vocals). Burn The Fleet isn't heavy or aggressive like the songs before it. It's much more melodic to me.

And then The Flame Deluge just burns everything to the fucking ground.

Burn the Fleet is so badass to me. I love some of the imagery that that song conveys, especially "but the fire continues to rise, and it shows not a hint of any fear in our eyes." It's a great motivational song for me.
