I can't handle this. I get to see TV and Movies early, but still, this is torture. I fear for my mortality when thrice records are watching, waiting in the wings.

This period must drive the band crazy, too. You know they want their music heard as well as that cash money in their hands.

 

I know what it’s like to sit on a record and yes it sucks

 

Usually most songs are written 1-2 years before release, it’s a bleepin painful process

 

I know what it's like to have a label NOT release your record. We had already waited a year for it to be released.

Politics. Crumbling industry. Scumbag producer. And manager.

 

Plus, you're sick of those songs by that point. You already want to record your new stuff. That's the worst part of the recording process; you play those songs to death; listen to 'em to death during tracking, mixing and mastering. By the end, I always wish I chose different songs for each record.

I currently have 200 fleshed-out song ideas on just my phone that could amount to a career's worth of music. Sadly, they'll never see the light of day.

 

What band did you play in? And that sounds awful, really sorry about that.

 

I just assume all those 200 songs are about Thrice

 

All lyrics being some variation of “TEPPOW! KENSBOOM! WRECKINBRIDGES!” or the like.
