Keep You is a classic and one of the most heartbreaking albums I've ever heard

Am I supposed to completely know another person's music taste?

 

i mean he said he likes the earlier stuff but not the later stuff? i mean that's not a weird or surprising take at all and it's weird when i see people think that take is completely irredeemable

 

It's partially this, and also the fact that I just don't feel Wait for Love and Keep You are as dynamic as their earlier works. I like a lot of more atmospheric/post-rock/less aggressive tunes, but I was just bored out of my mind listening to those as anything beyond background noise. Pianos' first two albums are pretty good too.

 

well yeah, i'm not saying you don't like similar music, i'm just saying those two sections of their discography are different enough that it makes sense for someone to look at them in different eyes

I'm curious if you've seen them perform the new material live? I only ask because I think it sounds a lot heavier and more dynamic live - though I love the albums as they are too, so I'm coming from a different baseline.

nope. and i don't plan to unless they're opening for another band i want to see. like i said, the last two records aren't my thing.

I wasn't saying you should, or would have unless they were opening for a band you wanted to see. Was just curious if you had, because I personally thought the music came across differently live and wondered if it might to someone who didn't enjoy the albums.
