I love this record. I am now freaking out as I expect at any minute to be slapped with a paternity suit for the child I never knew I had.

The only ones I skip over are Wake Up and Stay With Me. Well, and Seneca, but I don't even realize that's a song to be listened to half the time. I'm not a huge fan of Whistleblower, but I listen to it. Rest of the album is great

Unfathomably beautiful tour pressing of this at their next dates: 13339579_10153662135953527_277589184084760628_n.jpg

Hopefully it's still around by August when they get to the UK as I need this. Take that you smoke owners! (okay i'm still incredibly jealous)

I see Thrice on June 23rd, which means I have 22 days to lay the ground work that would allow me to convince my fiancée to let me buy the limited edition version of a record I already own.

It will take all 22 days and nearly all of my cunning to accomplish this task.

Make sure before you even mention it you spend at least a couple to date saying "wow I can't believe how important this record is to me." " not sure I'll ever get a thrice record again, so happy this exists" " it would be really cool to own some sort of special edition copy of this" still will be tricky though. Take them out to dinner several times that helps too

Right now, I'm legitimately considering whether my current record should have an "accident" about a week before the show. At which point I will "discover" that the limited edition tour variant exists.

Plan B is to try and fake cry.

Dang is that Tour pressing pretty. I don't need it. I don't collect variants. I've already got the Smoke and have a black waiting for me at Park Ave CDs for their acoustic set in Orlando.

But I'll be damned if I don't convince the wife that I do, in fact, have to have this and that cool shirt.

I wonder just how limited it is. I have the day off already so i'll be one of the first inside the venue.....but im still curious.

EDIT: and if you can buy more than one.....I know I have at least one friend that will miss this and want one.

dude, I already own 2 LPs and a CD of this, and I will still be getting this variant. when you sell the ring you can buy all the copies of this album you could imagine. hahaha

I'm hoping they limit the amount to maybe 2 as to avoid an Alchemy Index type fiasco...

Hopefully they still have some of those left at the Atlanta date.

    Fight the long defeat.

That tour variant is gorgeous, wow. Gonna be hard to resist picking one up in a couple weeks.

We reach for the longest shadow

I like the idea of tour variants, but holding it during the show sucks. The best option would be to leave and take it to my car, but a lot of venues don't allow re entry.

Was about to say that's dedication driving all the way here from Knoxville, but then I remembered I almost went to an Attalus show up there a couple months ago. Haha. Pretty much everyone comes to Atlanta, but I actually enjoy concerts I have to take a road trip for even more.

Tour press looks so damn pretty, but I'm going to the show by myself and I'll be in Europe for five weeks starting later this month and I can't be spending extra money.

Anyways... 180 g finally gets delivered today

Nothing sucks more than hauling a record around with you an entire show. Ugh

If I grab this, the benefit is that my wife and I will probably be sitting comfortably in the balcony area. We won't be standing in the crowd.

Well 3 our 4 of Thrice are dads..... definitely dad rock. Never heard that phrase before haha.

I really like Wake Up but if they had released that as the first single I would have been shitting my pants in the nervous kinda way. Pretty sure they were going for a classic rock sound on that chorus melody... in context don't mind it at all..but if it were my first taste of new Thrice....idk.

Album still getting better with each listen. Initially did not care for Whistleblower....now really appreciating the drums, the heaviness, the Vheissu-ness, the uneasiness of that outro getting out of tune.....

I can tell this album will stand proudly next to Vheissu for me and Vheissu is their magnum opus

Whistleblower has become my favorite on the album. Incredible song. That outro really is something else.

Hate that dad-rock comparison. Honestly if Dustin's vocals were just a teeny bit more smooth then those people would be all over it. thats my opinion at least

Just about every song on this album is taken to a new level in the bridge. They're just so fucking good at writing bridges, they almost always bring a lot more emotion into the song.
