Beggars is still my favorite album of all time and I don't see that ever changing at this point. And I totally agree with the whole conversation about m/m and tbeitbn. I think the time off really let them hone what they were going for on m/m into a much superior record. And yea, they better stick with Palmquist

    just one of those ghosts

It was the production of Beggars that first caused Thrice to capture my attention. The raw production qualities shared with M/m are actually one of the (many) reasons I love M/m a lot too. I don't expect their sound to necessarily return to that era, but I hope it might.

I wouldn't mind teppai picking up recording duties again, then maybe we will be able to hear the leads ha. Mixing is great on the record I just wish the lead guitar was louder

I feel like the guitars are mixed just right on the new album. I've never had trouble hearing both guitars, particularly the lead

listen to the live TBEITBN sessions compared to the record, there is so much that comes out on the lead guitar that is just sort of buried on the record. Also compared to Beggars and Major/minor the lead guitar is buried heavily at times. When its instrumental the lead is loud but like in the chorus of Black Honey that lead guitar is way too low in the mix. It may just be the mixers preference that he doesn't like guitar melodies getting in the way of vocal melodies. My preference is let me hear all of the parts well.

You could message their tour manager. I think his name is Andrew Ellis off the top of my head. My guess would be 75k.

My favorite lead from Teppei on TBEITN is definitely the verses on Hurricane. Comes off so clean live but not the loudest in the mix on record. The Black Honey chorus is probably the best example though

My top five from the album would have to be Hurricane, The Long Defeat, Black Honey, Stay With Me, and Death From Above. Blood on the Sand almost made it because it was so immediate and got me so excited for the album.

    Hurricane
    Stay With Me
    The Window
    Black Honey
    The Long Defeat

For the rest I'd go with:
    Death From Above
    Salt and Shadow
    Whistleblower
    Blood on the Sand
    Wake Up

But even the worst song is still good. Also I don't really count Seneca as it's just an interlude.

Love black honey and blood on the sand but the lyrics aren't my favorite on the record.
Salt and shadow and stay with me are good but seem a bit out of place on the record for me

Wake up starts awesome and just devolves into shit. Actually hate that song. Ha

    In order for me:

    The Long Defeat
    Hurricane
    Death From Above
    Whistleblower

I don't have a fifth cause I could justify any of the other songs at #5. But these are the clear highlights for me.

Also, "The Long Defeat" and "Hurricane" are two of the best songs I have ever seen/heard live. Period.
