Eh, nothing truly interesting, I guess?

    roamer. wanderer. nomad. vagabond.

as a long time fan, here's something i would like to see the band do on the fall tour: open with hurricane, and follow it up with deadbolt. and then play absolutely nothing else from the first two albums as an 'f u' to the people bitchin about not enough deadbolt on the setlist.

I'm just here to say that they were absolutely amazing at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, I was sick with chills and stuff, but I toughed it out till the very end because they were at such a high level.

The crowd was electric from the videos I've seen. The band tweets, post-show, were glowing.

What's their reasoning for never playing it?

The Republic of Wolves acoustic cover of The Beltsville Crucible is fantastic.

Stay With Me and Yellow Belly continued to displace Treading Paper and Anthology last night. There were no surprises last night despite Beggars being played, in favor of Daedalus, at Silver Springs on the 16th.

They've played Deadbolt more than enough over the years to justify giving it a break for a while. There haven't been many Deadbolt complaints this tour since they've been so good about it over the years.

If I were them, I'd never play that song again just to piss off fans who only want to hear that song.

Why wouldn't you just read it? I often have to bicker with you over things I quote directly from the band's mouth.

Thrice doesn't do anything out of spite. They're, like, mature and stuff.

    Re: Beltsville

Somebody misquoted them and said that they wouldn't play it because of the breakdown being slow. Dustin chimed in to dispute that misquote:

I did read it, but I didn't find anything to be particularly interesting or of the blue beside Riley saying he recorded guitars for the bridge of Death From Above as well.

Also, if you're going to quote directly from the band, you can do this whole thread a favor and link to where it's said instead of acting like you're "the butcher."

I love this song. I wanna see it love so badly.

Are you referring to their demo that nobody acknowledges?

The crowd was terrible for Gates and La Dispute, but once Thrice came on it was such a huge shift. I thought we were gonna be in for a boring crowd, but I was wrong.

Also Thrice should play "The Beltsville Crucible" I love that song and it would have went over big if they actually played it here in Maryland.

Every tour should have a TIoS song revisited in the encore. Beltsville would be ideal. But, whatever they choose, it'll sound great given Dustin's 2016 vocals and better tonality across the board. (Deadbolt would not apply.)

Since they played Trust in 2008, I'd rather they go back even further as far as songs they haven't played in a long time. (Translation: I desperately want Beltsville or Strange.)

This is easily my favorite song from The Illusion Of Safety. The acoustic version of it is actually what got me into the band, despite having Beggars for a few months but that didnt click with me until a bit later when I really started getting into the band.

I would be cool with So Strange I Remember You as well.

Even though I've been keeping up with the scene for years now, I've somehow managed to not hear a lot of Thrice's discography, besides TAITA and Vheissu, so I basically went into this with no expectations.

    It's fantastic.

Makes me want to dive into their old stuff

I think you should definitely check out Beggars next and the The Alchemy Index. I'm excited for you
