Saw Thrice in Dallas at the BFD festival. They played In Exile and Under a killing moon!

 

Went to BFD yesterday too. JUST to watch Thrice. Then I left and went to the Hatebreed show. Good day all around.

 

TBE turns 3 today!

 

They are a BFD band now

 

And Beggars turns 10 this year and vheissu turns 15 next year!

 

I still love TBE a ton. Without a doubt my second favorite from them at this point

 

Honestly a very wholesome all around good record. No matter how people claim to be its “safe”.

 

Nothing wrong with it being a safe record either. Beggars wasn't a particularly challenging record in any way after all the experimenting they did with Vheissu and TAI and it's considered one of the band's best albums. At least it's my favorite.

 

Beggars is absolutely my fav Thrice album as well, but I would say the “stripped-down” approach they took was experimental in a way.

Seems like the only Thrice song the crowd knew was Black Honey, smh.

 

Yeah the crowd sucked but what do you expect? 90% of the people there probably wouldn't have gone to see any of the bands there on their own.

 

Stay With Me just came on shuffle. What a banger

 

I feel like TBE was the perfect album to come off a hiatus with. It solidified their return to form with an album that was much better than Major Minor was (which I dont hate but by Thrice standards was low)

 

I listened to Major/Minor just the other day, and it is definitely not a bad record, it is just missing something that all the other post-Artist Thrice albums have. I can't put my finger on it.

Glad to see all the TBE love, anyway.

 

It’s missing good production and more than two or three standouts

 

Yeah, they were going though the motions on that record due to all the personal issues each member was going though at the time.
