Musically I can enjoy it, but the lyrics on about half the album are a huge turnoff for me.

 

I have a somewhat thrice tattoo. I got the bee from one of their shirts tattooed on me a year ago. Absolutely love it.

 

I'm glad everyone puts TBEITBN so high on their list. I have it closer to the bottom personally but it makes me happy that a band so late in their career are still putting out stuff people absolutely love.

 

I love the lyrics, but I know my faith helps with that. I think they lyrics are mostly up to Dustin's standards poetically, they're just very overt.

I think I said this in another thread, but my biggest issue with the album is it feels caught in a middle ground between the experimentation of Beggars and the big rock sound of TBEITBN. But it's not especially dynamic and the production keeps it from sounding as big as it should so it doesn't excel in either camp.

 

Oh wow the people in this thread are really something else.

Imagine if one of the victims came in this thread to say "stop posting about band" and y'all are like "HE'S JUST TALKING ABOUT THE ROLLOUT RELAX LOL"

People have a strong emotional connection to music and when that music is tainted, it is very difficult for me people to move on. Tough concept to understand, I know I was ignorant once too, but I would feel the exact same way if some fucked up shit came out about Circa Survive. You can be damn sure I'd never want to see their name around and I would like to think people would understand that maybe they just shouldn't bring up the names of problematic artists/bands at all in the first place.

But I guess an exception is made when talking about an album rollout so what the fuck do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Ok Kevin made one post about the band and has apologized for not realizing how a passing mention would affect people. I really thought this discussion was over tbh. Can we please- PLEASE move on from this in this thread?

 

Do I not have a choice to speak on a matter relative to this thread right now? Sorry you seem uncomfortable with having a difficult conversation, but I'm not and I find it incredibly problematic how a lot of you all in this thread treated someone for trying to steer the discussion away from a problematic band and explain why.

I still need to listen to them. I have never listened to ETID but I know they are loved on this site. I feel like I'll get them recommended to me in CMCS soon.

I waited way too long to get into them. Then I felt like the back catalog was kinda too large to dig into.

haha I did the same thing with Underoath (got in with Erase Me) and Wolves at the Gate (got in with XvX). I love digging into a band with a huge discography.

I love it when it clicks, I hate trying to pick what album to start with.
I usually get stuck on one and takes me forever to listen to all of it

 

I'm an old folk who still listens to cds. When I got all Silverstien and Underoath discography this year, I put them all in order on one disc and just kept it in my car for months. I love it.

 

I think I've had the City of Angles soundtrack stuck in my car for 3 years. Might be the only CD I own.

So the initial problem was talking about that band in here. And now as a solution you say you’re not going to stop talking about them until the people that fought about it come back into the thread to explain why they said the things they said? Am I understanding you correctly? Because that’s simply unrealistic. And by the way, you got me... talking about that band makes me very uncomfortable.... I thought that was the entire point? I’m not trying to silence you. I wasn’t participating in the thread when this argument happened. I’m just trying to stop talking about that band in here for obvious reasons. But fuck me for trying I guess...
