Seems like most of the people I encounter online these days are bigger fans of Beggars than Vheissu and earlier, which just straight up boggles my mind - but hey, nothing wrong with that. I guess more and more fans are coming in later in their career, and Beggars must sound more easily digestible for those folks.

I think it's one of their more boring records to be honest. I like the idea behind Beggars, that they wanted a raw, stripped down jam-out bluesy kind of record, but the execution I hear on record doesn't really match up to that vibe. I liked a lot of the songs earlier on (ATWIM, The Weight, Circles, W&W, TGE, Beggars) but listening again these days, they don't all hold up for me. The guitar tones on the record are thin and not pleasant sounding, the riffs are pretty weak.

At The Last - I cannot hear this song because the guitar is so annoying sounding to me and I really dislike Dustin's singing on it. In Exile sounds like a poppier rock band on the radio wrote it. Talking Through Glass starts cool, but doesn't really keep my interest. The Weight has no business clocking in at 5 minutes. Doublespeak's chorus annoys me and kills the sound of the song, almost like the chorus of Wake Up on TBE..

I can't quite put my finger on this record and what it is I have against it. Maybe the lack of overdubs made for a lesser experience to me? Or some of the songs sound too basic and half-realized? I think it's the sound of the instruments though, nothing sounds that good to me, where as Palms is just a gorgeous, sparkling record.

This just seems so unnecessary and condescending.

Why does there have to be explanation beyond people have different opinions than you?

    1) Beggars
    2) Alchemy Index(I'm counting it as one album. Fight me)
    3) Vheissu
    4) To Be Everywhere/Palms(for now)
    5) M/M
    6) Artist

I've never made it all the way through Illusion or IC. Just not a huge fan of early 2000's post hardcore except for that one Funeral for Friend album for some reason haha.

The Dark is not one of my fav songs from the record but I’ll be damned it’s stuck in my head.

I feel like all 4 parts of TAI should be considered one album. I would absolutely rank it as my #1 when taken in its entirety, not sure I would do the same splitting it up into 2 records.

We like to rank things here. We basically need a new poll every 30 days to ensure the data is current.

Same. All together it beats all, but kind of unfair since it literally has everything they do haha.

I was kind of unsure on that one. I went with the way they were released, rather than when they were recorded. For me personally, I don't even listen to 3 & 4.

I think TAI maybe requires its own poll?

FWIW, my opinion: Air > Earth > Water > Fire

That said, every release has at least something I enjoy except for the Earth Ep and Identity Crisis. I just prefer heavier thrice *shrug*

Who do we think influenced this album?
I'd like to dive into them, because I'm liking a lot of the sounds I'm hearing
