Alternatively to that alternative, play both songs back to back as their encore like they did for the Palms tour.

They should bring back Trust. Easily my favorite song on that album

    roamer. wanderer. nomad. vagabond.

that's what i read too. it's easier to just release a few b-sides on digital and a second leg of the tour to pass the time rather than announce (if the album has already been done) the new album being released 9 months from now due to shortages.

Haha how many times do you think you’ll have to say this for people to get it? There’s 2 on this page alone.

This is a damn fine cup of coffee.

We know the full album has not been recorded. That doesn't change the fact that they said "some" of it was already recorded and a lot more was written. They had enough ideas for two records.

Maybe they didn’t like what they came up with after they sat with the ideas long enough and scrapped em

Why is anyone up in arms over this lol

Band gave people a sense there could be a Horizons/West after some fan speculation. I don’t see the issue with fans wanting it to come out because they love the band.

The band does have the right to alter the course too. Or delay things. We are likely just all eager fans.

If their plans changed, that's fine. Just offer us some clarity so we don't get our hopes up any longer.

Did the band ever say it was coming out shortly? Not that I recall. But did I miss something? And if they did, don’t just tell me they said it, link me to it. Let’s make sure we’re actually going off of what was actually said.

like, it hasn’t even been a year since the last album. People need to calm down. If people got their hopes up, it seems like they set themselves up for disappointment.

    January 2022 Interview with Dustin:

"When this piece comes out I will hopefully be finishing up the companion record to the record we released last September, Horizons/East. (The new one will be, you guessed it, Horizons/West.)"

    Dustin in September 2021 Interview

"“There will be a [Horizons/]West as a companion record – it’s partially written, partially recorded, and all from the same sessions that we’ve been writing in. There was a point where we decided to split it into two records. We were like, ‘We’ve got 20 songs that we’re playing with here, and we really like all of them.’"

So nothing on when it would release, it seems.

The plan, as of September 2021 through January 2022, was to finish it early this year, therefore this year was the intention.

"Definitely shorter than a normal record cycle." Dustin

But finish it in what way? Writing it? The above quote does not clarify what part of it would be finished. And what’s a normal record cycle? 2-3 years? It could release the first half of next year and still be considered a shorter cycle. I think some fans set specific expectations to some general statements.

You're a literalist, I see. Finished means finish tracking before handing off for mixing, mastering, printing, etc. They finished tracking /East in late April, and it was out in September. So if they were planning to finish /West in early 2022, like they repeatedly said, then 2022 was the intention. They are not a band that can afford to record an album and shelve it for over a year.

And since /West was "partially recorded" already, 2022 was definitely the intention.

I mean, I’m open to various meanings of what the finished album can be. There’s simply not enough context in the quotes to actually say what was meant for sure. You are making assumptions and taking them as literal facts though, not me.

and hell, even if you’re right. It’s been like 8 months since the last album, even shorter for the vinyl release. Being upset that another album isn’t recorded and ready to go already is absurd, regardless of what the band has said.

you need to calm all the way down.

  25. I for one am shocked that in a time of unprecedented upheaval, everywhere, a band known to be perfectionists (and after their return express a need to value their families and personal lives), have altered their original goals and thoughts as needed. Shocked I tell you!

let the band do what they think is best for their creative and personal process, you’ll be ok!
