I stand by some of STP records, but that starts to go down a different path than Alternative/pop.

Yeah, the back half hits some snags, but there are some great songs on there (and not just the singles either).

Interestingly, the follow-up (2000's The Harsh Light of Day) is a better and more consistent record. It got basically no airplay at all, but it's a truly forgotten gem from that era.

Stunt was great. I liked some of their other records too. Good band.

That's interesting. Yeah, I don't remember that one. I think they play shows again now haha.

I've contended for a while that if Throwing Copper came out 2 years later it would have been bigger. That record was too early and we are all worse off for it.

I genuinely enjoyed both of those records. I would play "Falls Apart" on repeat

If I Am was their overlooked, highly underrated song after their success of Absolutely

A Place In The Sun was also a killer record. Now Lit is a country band. RIP.

Yeah for sure. That's a good song to cover too because you can totally slow it down or speed it up and it would still work. Very good pop rock song.

I contend Third Eye Blind, Blue, Dizzy Up The Girl, and Everything You Want as four of my favorite late 90's pop rock records.

Tiny Music was a very alternative/pop record, and a solid one at that too.

Love, love, love Toad! Fear & Dulcinea were two phenomenal back to back releases from them. Those two albums basically contain all the Toad songs you'd want plus a ton of real underrated or overlooked album tracks. (Windmills and Inside, particularly)

Those are two records that I'd kill to see reissued on vinyl, as the existing ones now sell for >$200 on eBay! But I've heard there's some dumb label dispute that is likely blocking any progress on that front.

I just recently revisited Tiny Music and realized that album didn't get the love & attention it probably deserved back in the day.

If we're doing all time favorite 90's albums, Filter - Title of Record and STP - Purple are records I will always spin.

Man this thread has gone some places. Are we really lumping Everclear in with the rest of the 90s gems? Always found them fairly trash.

My late 90s playlist consisted of Third Eye Blind, VH's Everything You Want, Incubus' Make Yourself, Deftones' White Pony, and the Now! 4 compilation album featuring prime hits like Bawitdaba and Blue Monday by Orgy. Then in 2002 I discovered Jimmy Eat World, 2003 I discovered Coheed and Cambria, and it's never been the same.

I went from Hanson fanboy to Everclear fanboy to Blink-182 fanboy.
