it's possible they put out a new song for the show, i'd think like 50/50. i think it's likely that they play a new song at the show, definite if a new song drops. if a song isn't out for a show, and if a new song isn't played, i don't think we're that close to hearing something

 

I don't think they've ever actually premiered a song live before releasing it so that'd be interesting

Every time they played a show or toured around an album release they wouldn't play the single until the day it was released (at least from my memory)

I remember when they announced Suburbia and released Local Man, I saw them on the first night of tour and they released the song 3 days later and played it the rest of the tour

 

I hope they don't play the new song at the show without first releasing it. I don't want the first widely available form of it to be someone's horrible cell phone recording. I don't think they will play it live without releasing it first, though.

 

The band has gone on record stating that they don't like playing songs live that don't have a recording already out there. Maybe it'd be different for a one-off but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Side note. Still bummed I wasn't able to get a ticket to Boot & Saddle. If anyone's got an extra to throw around, could you help a fellow fan out?

Someone in the TWY group on FB claims to have gotten an unmarked 7" from Hopeless Records with a new TWY song

Apparently the 7" contains a spoken word poem in several different languages and a new song. The labels are the distances between two points (assuming sister cities)

 

Lol I’d be very confused if I got a record in the mail with the distance formula on it.

i was iffy about buying tickets when they first went up but now i'm very very excited for wednesday, going to be so fun being one of the first to see this new song in such a tiny place

Shit, the gig is Wednesday? For sure felt it was Friday for some reason.

I could see us getting a song tomorrow then. Wednesday might be too short notice for the people attending the gig/ any press around the song.
