I completely understand where you’re coming from, but I’d attend this show if it was at a trump hotel to be honest. I NEED to see fireworks. It sucks that the venue hosts crazy Qanon shit but spoiler alert most people who own commercial property fucking suck

This is dumb as fuck lol. Fireworks pal around with a rapist and the man who defended him. They are a large part of the reason both still have prominent places in the scene

    EDIT:
Since I'm the second most posts in the Fireworks thread I assume most fans have seen what I've posted but to reiterate:
Fireworks continued to promote and support JJR after he lied and defended the rapist Harry Corrigan. They supported him even past TWY quietly firing him. Do with that what you will, very disappointed to see them out on tour together.

You wouldn’t catch me dead at a fucking trump hotel, and certainly not for some dumb pop punk band lmao

Decided to put on TGG on a whim tonight. What a great record. It’s like a bridge between their past and current styles, solid pop-punk through and through but with more “mature” lyrics. It really feels like their peak.

Also, I’m a fan of Fireworks, but have they ever addressed the lyrics to Closet Weather? I was 17 when that album came out and at 30 that song feels gross.

EDIT: I was going to say there are no skip-able songs on TGG but I forgot about Madelyn. That song has always been rough to get through vocally for me.

This tour announcement is giving me flashbacks to the anniversary weekend and seeing Fireworks and TWY 3 nights in a row. What a time to be alive

    I’m exaggerating

the point is, most property owners are pieces of shit, yet we must continue to enter buildings

You...mustn't. You can very easily pick problematic venues (or artists) to boycott, even if you can't control every space you walk into.

Had not heard that song before. Was expecting cringy sex/slut shamey stuff (cause pop punk) but…wow. That’s a choice.

Just want to echo this, I had largely forgotten about their role in all that because I hadn’t thought about this band in forever.

I would love to live with your privilege. As a non-binary person I don’t feel safe supporting or going into Main Street Armory again. It’s not just about them hosting Qanan shit - it’s so much more with their owner, etc. and “spoiler alert” I’m aware that most people who own commercial property fucking suck but I’m trying to take a stand and make a difference so myself and other minority groups can go to shows feeling safe.

If anything happens, the show will probably move to Syracuse or cancel similar to Japanese Breakfast tbh. All appropriately sized Buffalo venues are booked that night and there's nowhere else to put it in Rochester.

funny you mention Closet Weather, I ran through most of their discography on a road trip last week and that song does NOT hit the same today for me either
