    @vitopagano It Must Get Lonely

    Agree100% also parts in "We Look Like Lightning" at 1:22 when the tempo picks up has me feeling all 1980's "In A Big Country" by In A Big Country ( check that out for a comparison )

    Kyoto, Pyramids, Lonely, Sister Cities, Ghosts, and Orange Grove for sure. Ocean would be a great closer to the pre-encore set too.

    I need to hear Ghosts live.

    The record has taken over my life. Every listen I've been finding new musical flourishes or lines to obsess over and lyrically a lot of it has hit really close to home with specific things going on with me at the moment. It's already a very special record to me, coming at exactly the right moment. It Must Get Lonely, The Ghosts of Right Now and The Ocean Grew Hands are all-timers for the band. It's insane to me how I adored Pyramids of Salt prerelease and it's probably not even a top 5 on the record, just an exceptional effort.

    Meet me in Montauk

    It’s basically “Well, I wonder which song they're gonna play when we go.
    I hope it's something quiet and minor and peaceful and slow.”

    Josh's bassline during the third verse of We Look Like Lightning tho :heart:

    edit: HOLY FUCK THAT BRIDGE IS HEAVY whaaaat

    edit 2: The Ghosts of Right Now sounds like a heavier take on the Suburbia sound and I am HERE FOR IT.

    Fucking hell, Kyoto. What a song. This band has some truly stunning openers.

    Great, great album. Some of the guitar work on this record is incredible.

    Great album after the first listen. Truly exceptional to have a band connect with me as hard at 25 as they did when I was 17.

  11. I wasn't ready for the back half at ALL and now I'm on The Ocean Grew Hands to Hold Me. I love it already and the intro's barely finished.

    The world is not as big as I had once believed, and I may be smaller yet than I had ever imagined. I have loved as you have loved and as you have hurt, and someday your wounds will reopen, and your pain will be my pain. The current is going to carry it to me, it will wash up on my shores, of this I am certain. The distance once felt infinite and now feels meaningless. I am everywhere at once, the expanse no longer vast, the gaps cinched shut. The distance formula. How do we measure the distance between desperation? How do we measure isolation if not in loneliness? I left pins on a map, I'm handing you the string. Tie them together. Unite us.

    It's fun looking back at the distance poem and seeing how it really is a thesis statement for the record.
