I thought the whole thing was actually well done, it's just so disappointing to think how much that would've crushed me if they did exactly that in the finale. Like I was pacing and my heart was racing during that whole Negan speech up to the cliffhanger. Instead I was just like "welp, Abe's dying" "oh, there goes Glenn" ugh haha. The Carl scene was pretty tense for me though. JDM is great so I'm still in. For now lol.

Sidenote: seeing how people are reacting to these deaths, imagine how people would've lost their shit if they followed the Michonne/Governor stuff note for note from the comic lol.

I'll use spoiler tags as these are comic spoliers, but in this particular show, rebuilding IS coming. They just have to win the war with Negan first. Once they do, there is a time-jump of a year wherein things go pretty well I believe, with three or four communities built up with no real conflict between them, and all with separate governing/leaders while still working towards a shared goal (surviving/getting back to "the way things were" etc. etc.). Zombies again become the primary threat. Many personal relationships develop.
However, although I know talking "realistic" when it comes to zombies is borderline ridiculous, I believe that nowhere will be safe until all zombies are destroyed. In such a populous country like the USA, will that be a possibility? IMO I don't think so, due to the sheer numbers they'd have to deal with (millions). Large herds will inevitably find groups of survivors and overwhelm them (until survivors started living at sea or something!). At it's core this show is a horror one, so stories relating to rebuilding, as interesting as they could be, would just be another way to build that illusion of safety we've seen before, just on a bigger scale.

I could go on, but TL;DR lol

I was watching reaction videos last night and I was just like "goddamn you Kirkman that should've been me!" haha

See, that's what I am thinking. Is there really an actual "end" if everyone will turn when they die? Will any walkers just eventually die on their own?

With the way they've built it, it doesn't seem like they're ever going to address a cure to stop people from turning or a way to completely wipe out the walkers so... I just don't know what else they would do. Especially considering they have a second series going in about the same direction.

Damn, I don't care at all about this show, but there are a lot of assholes spoiling it out there thinking they're hilarious. I feel bad for my girlfriend haha she's obsessed with the show but we're in the process of moving so haven't watched it yet. Multiple people on Facebook ruined that real quick heh.

Yeah, I went back and started reading the comics maybe around when they started Alexandria on the show, and I couldn't believe how much more brutal the comic was.

I wonder if there will be tension between Maggie and Daryl. Daryl is half the reason Glenn died.

What do you mean by half? Is Negan the other half? Lol cause Daryl is 100% responsible. Expect there will definitely be some tension about that.

Yeah. I say 50% Daryl because his actions caused Negan to kill someone, 50% Negan because he chose to Glenn.

That's so dumb. How have people watched six seasons of this show and are having a problem with violence now?

I don't think any zombies will die on their own, unless maybe they stay "alive" so long they physically decay? Could that happen? Wiping them all out would be impossible IMO. For any survivor it seems that the second they let their guard down & make a mistake, they're bitten (Dale, Tyreese, Bob, Herschel) or some other survivor will cause them to be bitten (Andrea, Noah, the guy Morgan learned Aikido from).
This probably comes across as a negative attitude, and there's no reason why they couldn't build safe communities and re-start a civilised society because hey, it's all 100% fake & anything can happen, but that shit would be impossible for lots of reasons.
This show will just end with people like Rick, Carl, Maggie, Michonne still alive and leave it open-ended. "Life goes on, but for how long?" sort of thing!

Media response in particular has been so transparent. One media outlet had an article yesterday heavily condemning the violence, but today it had one criticising the Parents Television Council's reaction to the same violence, then had a list celebrating horror's most gory scenes!!!
It's all about hits, viewers and attention, what they say is meaningless!

I mean the violence was a bit jarring to me too. Not in a get the pitchforks, pearl clutching, think of the children way tho. The show always has violence and I expect it. That episode did stand out to me tho as being more gruesome. But just as much of that was cause of the psychological stuff. Even tho the part with Carl didn't come with gore it was hard to watch and hard to see Rick hyperventilating afterwards. It's always hard for me to see someone get bashed repeatedly even after they're already dead. Neegan was asserting himself so I get it and I expected it, but I def flinched and had icky feelings watching the episode when I don't usually.

I don't like the fact that Daryl has any involvement in Glenn's death tbh. This could of all been avoided by not doing a stupid cliffhanger thingy.

I woke up at 4am thinking about Glen and Abraham. And couldn't go back to sleep.
    Really hit me hard

But yeah. Jesus. I know enough to expect to expect this stuff after 6yrs. People melting down is a bit ridick.

This I can absolutely understand, I just don't get people who are boycotting the show over it or people being mad about it.

Everyone who watched this episode knew someone was getting their head bashed in with a bat, to complain about seeing that just seems silly to me. My girlfriend has a thing about violence with blunt objects and finds it very difficult to watch so she skipped this episode.

Also cliffhangers have been a staple in tv since the dawn of it that can't have people still pissed off surely?

A cliffhanger in this instance should have been avoided. Not saying all cliffhangers are bad.

But I'm not really grieving for either deaths over here cause of the set up of both episodes, one being a cliffhanger where we don't know who dies and this one where there are two important deaths and yet the focus is on Rick in a very drawn out fashion.

    Ok I getcha now

I'm bloody distraught ay. I thought 3 Human Centipedes and 6 seasons of this desensitised me. I was wrong.

As corny as the table scene was I was sitting through it thinking that while crying at the same time.
(And at least it was a bit relevant as it was Ricks though process after what Negz said to him, rather than a random bit added on to the end of the ep)
