The original spin-off (Rick) was announced in 2018 and was meant to be a movie, or three movies. I think the belief or the idea at the time was to air them simultaneously while TWD was still airing and it would all lead back into the ending of TWD series.

Obviously, that never happened and now here we are with all these additional stupid and ridiculously unneeded and unwanted spin-offs to the point where the ending of the main show is useless.

Yeah, why even end the main series if you’re going to still have all of the big actors in contracts to continue the franchise? Seems like a weird choice.

Daryl should take Rick’s death from the comic and the series should end with Judith as a teenager or young adult. Give it a definite ending.

I am finally caught up on this (at least the normal AMC schedule) and while it's not awful - and it's still entertaining - it feels just like any other normal season. There is nothing that screams 'this is the end' at all this season. Clearly, with all the spin-offs, they will not be wrapping up any storylines among our main characters and that is super disappointing. Like, the build up of the series finale of an 11-season show should be enormous and this just feels like any other season of the series where the group just rallies together to get rid of one more big bad.

This is a good write-up and similar to how I feel.

Walking Dead Recap, Season 11 Episode 22: Faith

Also, not mentioned in here, but almost as laughable is that we are on like episode 175 and all of a sudden we're just learning that some zombies have super powers where they can climb, open doors and grab knives? WAT???

Season 1 had walkers that could pick up objects, climb stuff, and open doors. Apparently it was part of Frank Darabont’s vision, and once he was gone, the walkers were retooled to be what has been the norm throughout the rest of the show.

When I frequented The Walking Dead subreddit for a few years, a recurring type of post was something along the lines of, “What happened to the smart walkers from season 1? Why does the show pretend like they never happened?”

Now it seems that they’re being reintroduced to both satisfy those fan questions and set up variants of walkers as “new” threats for the upcoming spin-offs.

I don’t hate it. The way the show addressed it could have been dumber.

I watched season 1 12 years ago, haha. I have no recollection of that. I don't doubt it though, although I would say that the more and more the seasons have gone on, the walkers became more watered down, slower, less of a threat and more of an inconvenience. So for them to all of a sudden turn into something more after years and years and years of the same just felt like an odd choice, especially considering the series ends in two weeks.

Latest episode got a 9.2 on IMDB....worth watching? I've been watching Man of Recaps for like the last few seasons haha but wanted to watch the final couple episodes if they were solid enough.

I’ve watched S11 up through the penultimate episode so far thanks to AMC+, and idk if I would call any of the episodes from 11C great. They’re fine.

Who knows, TWD may stick the landing and deliver an excellent finale, but I’m not counting on it based on this last block of eps.

The last episode was ok as a buildup. These last 2 episodes really need to be something.

I’m pretty excited that I only have one episode left of an 11 season journey, regardless of how it pans out.

Didn’t really get as excited about ep 23 as many seem to, I feel like this could have happened 3 episodes ago and built to a bigger climax

Norman Reedus says 'everybody dies' in 'The Walking Dead' finale

Of course it won’t happen, but honesty that would kick ass.

I always loved Robert Kirkman’s original idea to end the comics—a flash-forward in time that starts with a close-up of a Rick Grimes statue in Alexandria, then it zooms out to show the place is dilapidated and overrun with zombies.

I haven't seen like the last two and a half seasons, I can't imagine how many death fake outs I've missed or did they start to cut that shit out lol

My guess is the show ends with the walkers destroying all the communities and the group is left in the wilderness to start from scratch. Nobody noteworthy dies and we all hate ourselves for sticking with this show for a third of our lives.

Well we already know all of Daryl, Negan, Maggie, and probably Carol survive. Does it even matter if anyone else does?

EXT. Woods outside of Alexandria - Daytime

Daryl & Negan watch from a distance as the walkers destroy the town

Negan: Well Daryl, it looks like we were the walking dead after all.

    Cut to black.

    End of credits scene:

*Daryl in the middle of the woods at night, all by himself, camera pans up and walkers are coming in every single direction*

*Camera zooms to Daryl's face. He flicks cigarette into the woods as he sits on his motorcycle*

'Fuck this, I'm going to Paris'

*Kicks Motorcycle pedal five times, motorcycle rises and flies into the sky.

    Cut to black.

Rewatching Fear S7E8 (“P.A.D.R.E.”) again. Even though the rest of the season is insufferably bad, this episode commits to being bad in a Syfy-movie way, so it ends up being pretty funny. Anyway, this franchise has rotted my brain

The way Fear had Alycia Debnam-Carey for 7 seasons and squandered her throughout most of them is still irritating.

Is there a way to stream the finale live with an amc+ trial?

  21. Orla

    little old lady Prestigious

You should be able to stream the finale on AMC+ when it drops at 9 pm ET next Sunday, regardless of whether you have a free trial or a subscription.

They’re not doing the ability to watch the finale early on AMC+ like they’ve done with previous episodes.

I'm two episodes behind, need to catch up. I feel like I need to watch the finale live as well. I have my parents Verizon sign in, would that work? Or you need +?

The second-to-last episode was good. The last 8 minutes was some of the most thrilling in recent memory.

Have a pretty good idea where this is going.

Wild to think that this ride will be over after 12 years.
