If/when theme parks open again, when will you return?

My wife has already said not for months after they (mainly Disney parks) open... I’m kind of just like, whatever, I’ll go myself (flying or driving from wherever I am at the time) the week they open back up.

I have time off saved up at work and I already have a pass so I’m thinking of going as soon as I can as long as I don’t feel unsafe

Same goes for anything else, as soon as science tells me it’s safe to do so. The only parks I really ever visit are those in Florida, and I likely wouldn’t have been back there until 2021 anyway.

Honestly, we really want to hold out hope that we can get there late fall for a food/wine trip, but, truthfully, how crazy irresponsibly florida has been handling this makes me not really want to even go near the place until next year sometime. Most of the employees and guests who visit regularly are florida residents, so who really knows how ‘safe’ it is even when they deem it OK to open the gates.

I don’t want to paint with too broad a brush bc i know there are floridians in here and in general who are smarter than some of their neighbors, but if the same numbskulls sprinting to the newly opened beaches are gonna be the first ones back in the park, just count me so hella out.

i mean to be completely honest, I have a lot of faith in Disney to facilitate and create as safe an environment as they can, what worries me is the behavior and overall health of their guests that they cannot always control or be on top of at all times.

im not worried about Disney, I’m worried about the Neanderthals that visit. My fiancé and I went for our anniversary and I gave up on people after that trip. Never been around so many inconsiderate people in my life

Disney Springs is beginning phased re-opening on May 20th, and many parking areas have reportedly re-opened for cast members, looks like the re-opening is underway in WDW. No word on the parks, but any business not strictly Disney-owned in Springs is able to re-open on the 20th, so i'd wager they are planning to gauge crowds and make further plans from there.

I wasn’t planning on going back until all the 50th anniversary stuff so definitely after that now and all this is under control hopefully

Shaghai is opening again right now... hilarious lack of social distancing by the guests already. I give it 2 weeks before it's closed again.

It’s virtually impossible to be socially distant at disney parks which is why they absolutely cannot re-open right now, but, stockholders.
